November 5, 2025 I went in today to the Horner Boulevard location in Sanford, North Carolina and spoke to the manager about the crappy batteries they sell —. I paid top dollar two months ago for a new battery for my Toyota Highlander and a week later I had to buy another battery for my wife’s Toyota Camry
Guess what?
Two months later and they’re dead as dead can be THIS PLACE SELLS SHIT Avoid at all cost !!!

Picked up a battery and declined to give my phone number, since I get enough spam calls already. The associate tried to persuade me, and finally said something to the effect of, 'You don't have to.' I kept the receipt, as I said I would, and returned to get the core charge. The next associate told me they couldn't do it without the phone number, which was not told to me at purchase. If I had been made aware, I would have bought the battery somewhere else, and I will certainly do so now. The first associate entered all zeros for my phone number, which apparently he's not supposed to do. I don't understand a couple of things in this situation: 1) Why does Autozone need a phone number in the first place? 2) If they aren't supposed to enter all zeros in the register for a phone number, why is it even possible? Make some technical controls for your system instead of hoping your associates do their jobs properly.

Hey I'm sharing this experience as a source of praise to the store and hopefully informative inspiration to someone else! The average "layperson" like myself would naturally assume that if a car Suddenly starts losing power, shaking and the engine and indicator lights for traction and O2 sensors flashing, then the engine must be on its last leg! So this is exactly what happened to my son's car recently. I followed him to AutoZone to get a Diagnostic computer readout. A girl named Bre Vann helped us. With that info I called my mechanic Willie from Willie's Auto Repair and he instructed me that "misfiring" indicated something going on with the Spark plugs and with just a few basic Tune-up items we could probably fix the issues. Long story short, we went back to the store and Bre looked up the parts and a spark plug socket for my son's 2014 Toyota Corolla and he and his older brother changed out the plugs and the coils right in the yard and it WORKED!! And saved a Ton of money that no doubt would have been charged if went back to the dealership! Bre didn't claim to be an expert but she calmly and competently took time to look everything up and answer my multiple questions and she was patient and kind which meant A LOT. And she provided extra confidence that my own daughter could learn and possibly get into a job like this too!
