I came in to have a tire patched and was told they would not patch it due to “extreme dry rot.” I was also told that all four of my tires had extreme dry rot and needed to be replaced immediately. This seemed odd, as I had recently had another tire patched at a local shop I trust, and they mentioned nothing about dry rot. My tires are also only about two years old. I decided to get a second opinion at another tire shop open on Saturday. They confirmed my tires were not dry rotted and that patching was no issue. However, they informed me that Mavis had cross-threaded a bolt, causing a stud to break. I will not be returning to Mavis. It’s extremely disappointing to feel taken advantage of when going in for a simple tire repair.
