- EWEric WeaverAug 24, 20251.0Went today to purchase brake calipers, as these folks were the only ones that had mine in stock. They came with a hefty core charge. Was NOT informed at time of purchase that I needed the original box for the cores. Brought cores back and was turned away, even though I received two boxes that were already in varying levels of disrepair. I threw them out, that’s what y’all would do anyway. On top of that, cashier Priscilla gave me a rash of attitude about the whole situation, saying “well, only one of those boxes was messed up”. Why are you, a low level employee, trying to nitpick me on behalf of a multi-billion dollar corporation??? Utterly shameful. Y’all won’t see another penny of mine.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
