  On the first warm day of the year I discovered that my Honda’s AC was going out, so wanting to get it resolved before the summer I thought I’d give the local shop a shot at fixing it. After 2 hours of doing engineering homework in their lobby while they worked through diagnosis and being sure of the problem, I got the bad news that my compressor had eaten itself from the inside out and requiring a total AC overhaul. As much as the price tag hurt, I knew it was significantly less than what the dealership would charge (or at least according to AI). What’s incredible is that they had my vehicle ready to go THE NEXT DAY. In the span of 24 hours, they got the parts and put in the labor to replace the entire AC system (compressor, evaporator, condenser, etc). Customer service was great, and the staff is professional with a good sense of humor. I don’t get the feeling that they’d take advantage of those less knowledgeable about vehicles and overcharge for/misrepresent service.

  My car broke down on Western Blvd. on a Sunday afternoon and I was able to pull it into the Handy Hugo's parking lot where I started calling friends asking if they had any preferred mechanics in the area. As luck would have it, they recommended this shop which was two doors down and- better yet- down hill! I jumped the car and limped it in neutral to their back lot, left them a note on my windshield, and dropped my key off in their drop box with some info on what happened and what I thought the cause was. I called them the next morning to confirm my dropping it off and explain what happened, and they were able to get it up on a lift and diagnosed that morning. Repairs (new alternator, ac compressor, as well replacing some fluids and corresponding gaskets) took an additional day and I was able to pick it up on Wednesday morning. Tyler was super friendly and communicative through each step of the process, and walked me through all the shop's diagnostic work/recommended fixes over the phone throughout the process. Their system handles everything online, so you get an email/text with a link to a breakdown of what they found during the diagnosis stage with photos (examples attached) as well as the work they'd recommend and the urgency of said recommendations. Would definitely recommend this shop especially if you're a State student, it's hard to beat the convenience of location and quality of service.
