I am writing to formally escalate an unresolved issue involving the Mooresville, NC Enterprise location. This situation has resulted in my rental of nearly $700 being reversed twice between Enterprise and my financial institution, and the inability to secure a rental vehicle for planned holiday travel, and a complete breakdown in customer service despite my family’s long history as loyal Enterprise customers.
On December 22, multiple attempts were made to process payment for my reserved rental vehicle. During the first attempt, my bank confirmed that the transaction was successfully completed and cleared on their end. I provided Enterprise staff with proof of the completed transaction directly from my online banking and by a baking representative. Despite this, the Mooresville location insisted the issue was with my bank. At the bank’s request, Enterprise was asked to provide a letter on company letterhead confirming that the payment had not been received so the bank could reverse the transaction.
After the bank reversed the payment, I attempted to pay again—this time by swiping my card directly at the terminal. Once again, Enterprise’s system failed to reflect the payment, even though the funds were immediately withdrawn from my account. My banking records clearly showed that the money was sent to Enterprise, yet the location continued to place blame on the bank and would not release a vehicle.
After a final attempt- as of this morning, December 23, I called Enterprise and was informed that they still do not see the payment in their system, even though my bank confirmed that Enterprise is the recipient of the funds. This issue leaves my family without a rental vehicle as planned for holiday travel.
This experience has been extremely disruptive and deeply disappointing. As recent and frequent Enterprise customers—most recently while our personal vehicle was being repaired over the last 30 days—we expected a higher level of accountability, and problem‑solving. Instead, we were left without resolve.
I spent the morning speaking with my bank to have the funds reversed…again and drafting this note. I understand that things can happen in our world of technology however, being able to send available funds using my bank card has never happened with any other merchant in my 33 years of banking with my institution. Furthermore, technology should not prevent humans from critical thinking to seek measures for customer care.
I am requesting the following from Enterprise Corporate:
• A formal investigation into the payment processing failures at the Mooresville location
• Reimbursement or release of any funds that may possibly be held by Enterprise
• A review of the customer service practices at this location
I am asking for prompt attention to this matter, as the lack of resolution is unacceptable.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Enterprise location.
I reserved a minivan more than a month in advance for a Christmas week trip specifically to avoid last-minute issues. On the Friday before my scheduled Sunday pickup, I received a call from this location to confirm the reservation. I missed the call, but returned it within five minutes and spoke with an employee named Kevin. During that conversation, I confirmed my reservation and was told they were in the process of securing the minivan I had booked.
On Sunday morning, I received the standard check-in email and completed the check-in online as instructed. Shortly after that, just two hours before my scheduled pickup time, I received a call from the location stating they would not have the minivan available.
What made the situation more frustrating was the inconsistency in their explanation. First, I was told that I never returned the call on Friday, which is incorrect. Then the explanation changed to saying I had been told on Friday that the minivan would not be available, which also did not happen. At no point was I informed prior to Sunday morning that there was an issue with my reservation.
Being told at the last minute that a confirmed reservation could not be honored—especially during peak holiday travel—put me in a very difficult position. This is not an isolated incident either; this is the second time in a row and the third time overall that Enterprise has failed to provide a reserved vehicle for me.
Unfortunately, this experience has completely eroded my trust in Enterprise. A reservation should mean something, especially when it is confirmed both online and by phone. I will not be renting from Enterprise again.

We reserved our car weeks ahead of time; when we arrived to pick it up, Enterprise had no car. They didnt even have another car that could hold 5 people and luggage. I used the COSTCO app for the savings. I have rented from this place previously, so they had my address, email, and cell phone in their records. Enterprise said they called me, but I had no record or message, nor was there an email. This was supposed to be the start of our travel, so we did not have an option to wait. Poor service. Poor management. Poor experience.
