  Only place I'll go from now on for windshield repairs! Got hit by something on the highway that cracked my windshield so stopped here on my way home. They checked it out for me, brought it in right away (without an appointment) and patched it up for free!

  I had an excellent experience with Shields Auto Glass and wanted to share it in case it helps someone else dealing with a similar issue. My Mazda had a problem where the intermittent (rain-sensing) wipers stopped working. I first took the car to Foreign Accents for repair. After inspecting it, they told me they weren’t certain of the exact cause and said it could either be the rain sensor assembly (which they quoted at $496 to replace) or the adhesive that couples the sensor to the windshield. They did note that the adhesive appeared dirty and thought that replacing it could resolve the issue. However, they did not have the ability to replace the adhesive there and said I would need to take the car to a glass shop to have that done. Foreign Accents charged me $160 for the diagnostic just to tell me this. Since I didn’t want to spend $500 on a new sensor without first trying the simpler adhesive fix, I paid the diagnostic fee and left with plans to visit a glass shop to see if replacing the adhesive would resolve the problem. That decision brought me to Shields Auto Glass, and I’m very glad it did. When I explained the situation to Shields Auto Glass, Denise was incredibly helpful from the start. She was very welcoming and said to bring the car by and they would replace the gel pad. When I arrived, the technician examined the sensor and immediately recognized that the issue was simply the dirty gel pad that couples the rain sensor to the windshield. He explained everything clearly and even took me out into the shop to show me the sensor mount and how it works. Instead of replacing expensive parts, they simply installed a new gel pad — a job that took only a few minutes — and the rain-sensing wipers started working perfectly again. Denise was outstanding throughout the whole process — friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in making sure everything was handled the right way. The level of customer service there was outstanding. It’s rare to find a shop that is this transparent and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Shields Auto Glass to anyone needing windshield work or help with rain-sensor mounting issues. This was actually my first time ever visiting Shields Auto Glass, and based on this experience I know exactly where I’ll be going if I ever need auto glass work in the future. Great people, great service, and I highly recommend them.
