headlight was out last summer. doors were open and i stopped by to see if they could change it. mechanic was like, "hey man, you can do this yourself." and showed me how. very unexpected but also very welcome. turns out it's pretty easy. and now i'm a regular for everything but headlights.

I have been coming here for all of my oil changes, and the customer service here is top notch. Staff members always make sure to explain, in the most simplest terms, what they plan to do with my car and they also ensure that they conduct a thorough inspection of my car as well (e.g. they check my brakes and my car battery). Quinn is extremely professional and kind as well. Thank you so much!

Although I’ve used this location before and always had a good experience I have to let someone know about the great service I received last week. I was on my way to work when I got an oil low message and luckily I was close to mavis. I pulled in right at 8 and asked if there was anyway to get my car seen without an appointment. Quinn and Cole got me right in and starting trying to figure out where I had oil leaking. They got it figured out and fixed in less than an 45 minutes and got me on my way to work. I’m so thankful for them because they took what could have been a super stressful day and made it easier. Thanks so much!

So, I came here to the place because my truck it was making a noise when I was pressing the brakes, so I thought I was at the right place for it but unfortunately they give me a wrong diagnostic and charged me for more then 23 hundred, I know it was a lot of money just for the noise but I was like, it is what it is. So they bought the pieces ( CV Axle and bearing parts) and charged me for both sides but they just changed one side, and they didn’t fix the noise, I told them to call a real Mechanic because they don’t know what they doing. Bad experience for real i don’t know why they did it, but I think is because they saw a Hispanic walking in, and boom. They saw the chance to get some easy money, oh wait when I came back the second day they it’ll have the other new pieces in the box, the one they charged me but never changed them.

LADIES, AVOID THIS PLACE! I am a furloughed government worker and came down to Hillsborough to visit my parents. We decided to try out Mavis Tire and Brakes, but I sorely regret the entire experience as it took up a day and a half of shenanigans trying to get them to correct installation mistakes on a simple tire change, alignment, and brake replacement. Not only did Mavis Tire improperly install my brake pads, they also lied about my car's brake pad measurements, lied about performing services which I requested and paid for, and constantly gaslit me when I told them I was experiencing problems after they had released the car to me. I drove my car 500 miles down from Virginia and didn't experience any problems until after Mavis Tire touched it. They did not review their own work and let me drive a car with improperly installed brakes that seized my driver's side rear caliper after only 2 miles on the road. The incident caused my tire to smoke and fill my car with an acrid burning smell. They tried to blame the problem on my driving; but when I called my male friend and had the mechanic repeat the issue over speakerphone, suddenly the story was different and it was actually a bad part and they were going to do the repair for free. The repair for the bad caliper bracket / piston pins was performed and I took the car back. I then noticed the alignment I had requested after installing new tires seemed not to have been performed because the car was pulling to the right. I brought the car back in and requested a print out of the before and after alignment measurements. Surprise, surprise: their printer isn't working. I was shown the measurements on the screen, however, and (surprise, surprise!) they had to make adjustments because my car's specs were off. How did that happen if they aligned it previously? I wasn't answered. I guess they wanted it to be a surprise. They offered to let me do a test drive with their service manager (omg, what!). I was too nervous to say no, but very uncomfortable with that whole situation. The service manager noted my car still pulling to the right and said he would talk to the mechanic. The mechanic instead just told me I was good to go and they had done all they could. I am very appalled at the service and attitude here. I don't know if they took advantage of me because I am a woman and they thought they could take my money, or if they disliked me because I had an out-of-town address, or if it is because I am a minority. Maybe it was all three. I had to work up a lot of courage to speak up for myself as a single woman in a male-dominated environment, going to the mechanic is always a hassle and is very intimidating, and I dislike making a big spectacle in public, but having a car in proper working order is essential to my safety especially when I was going to be driving it on a highway, by myself, on a four and a half hour trip back home. I called the regional office to complain and had a nice woman take down my account. She was very sympathetic, but no one else has reached out to me despite her saying that the general manager would. As you can see from the Owners reply to my review, it's just a standard boilerplate copy+paste AI reply. I have ALREADY called them and (can we shout it out loud so they people in the back can hear?) THEY DO NOT CARE. Please ladies, stay away from Mavis Tire and go somewhere more honest with mechanics that know what they are doing. Mavis Tire only wants your money and will upsell you to the point of lying to you. I have included a photo of four mechanics all trying to figure out how to align my car (the start of a bad joke?) and they didn't even accomplish it since my car still pulls to the right. These same mechanics were also clustered around my car when I brought it back in for the burning issue. I am having my car re-inspected now that I am back home and I just wasted $1,980 that I do not have to spare on dubious labor and parts. In this economy, no one has time for that!
