  We visited the Hendersonville Camping World on Saturday, Feb. 21 and worked with Andy Stokes. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of questions. He didn’t push too hard and gave us his card and told us to let him know when we decided which camper to purchase. We returned on Sunday, Feb. 22 but Andy wasn’t working. Instead, they had Kaleb show us the 2 campers we’d narrowed it down to. After looking at both again, we decided on the 2025 Coleman 17R, listed online at $19999 (with a monthly payment of $156 listed). We told Kaleb we both had over 800 credit scores and were certain we wouldn’t need any money down. We both knew it would make the monthly payment go up a little (not putting $ down), but we both knew where the payment should have ended up. Kaleb first came back with a quote for almost $28000, which blew our minds because how could a camper go up $8000 in price. But, I realized he’d quoted the 2026 model. He said that was on him and we reiterated that we didn’t want to put any money down. While he was gone, my wife looked up all of the items in the “Camping Package” that had been added to the quote for $2495.00. We totaled all of the items up to just under $500, if we bought them at Camping World. Kaleb came back with a slightly better quote, just under $25000. When my wife asked about the package, he said it was the cost of the items, propane, Good Sam’s, and a walkthrough by a technician. When we said we’d looked up the materials and they only cost $500, and we’d had a camper before and had the Good Sam’s membership and it wasn’t that expensive, he said the rest was for the technician walkthrough. So, basically, Camping World sells campers and won’t go over the minor details with the buyer unless they pay over $1500 for it. We said we didn’t want it, which he said he could get it knocked off but they’d just make sure there was air in the tires and park it on the side of the building for us to pick up. Nothing more. That sounded a little rude, but fine. We were ok with that. When we actually looked at the “quote” it was for $275-295 a month. My wife has a degree in math and immediately said NO. I agreed and we left. When we got in the car, she told me the only way we would have to pay that much on a $25000 loan was if they jacked up the interest rate to around 12%. He’d wanted us to sign saying we were ok with that, knowing we’d told him we both had over 800 credit scores. It was pretty much an insult. My wife and I have bought several new cars in the past & we’ve never had an experience like this one. My only consolation is that Camping World isn’t the only camper dealer out there.

  The entire staff was politely kind and accommodating which made our visit enjoyable! This was our first experience with "RV/Toy Hauler purchasing. Camper World of Hendersonville NC was organized, clean. Most important is Scot, our salesman. He presented himself not as a salesman but rather a friend helping a friend out. It made our visit so very enjoyable. He showed us multiple units and asked us important questions so that we could purchase competently. His product knowledge was impeccable! He listened attentively so that we could make an informed decision. He was able to give us a practical financial outlook estimation, with help of his floor manager, so that we could clearly understand all closing costs and fees out the door without the need for a damaging hard credit check. He refrained from the use of offensive sales pressure techniques and simply desired that we find the best choice for our needs and wants by showing multiple units so that we could really get a grasp on things. Big to small he showed us all. That's a super "WOW" to me and my wife!! Infact, we did find what worked for us. Although we did not choose to purchase at this time due to realizing that we needed additional credit building and cash reserves, he made the process easy, clear and effortless. Scot WILL be and remain our salesman-of-choice and your company will remain our choice of dealership to purchase from once we meet our readiness goals. Scot was honest, kind, polite, knowledgeable, attentive, gracious and simply just a down to earth quality good person. All your staff were super too!! Smiles and friendliness abounded. It was a fun experience. I can't complement Scot enough!! Thanks you Camper World of Hendersonville!!! We will buy our dream Toy Hauler soon from you. Kind regards, Kenton & Charlotte Massey

  Agreed to a price on Friday afternoon then when we went to pay for it the next week they said they never agreed to the price. Also when we came to see the camper from 2 hours away they didn’t it have it ready or near the front. We told them we were coming multiple times but they said they forgot to prep the camper. The campers toilet had been used.
