I recently brought my truck in for repairs after being quoted $350 for labor. I spoke with the same employee on two separate occasions, on different days, and was given the same quote price each time. When my son and I arrived at the shop, the staff did not acknowledge us and to keep in mind it was about 7 caucasian men at the counter at the time. We were standing there for a moment before I initiated the conversation and asked if someone could assist us. The employee then asked how he could help, and I reminded him that I had called multiple times and was quoted $350 for labor. He then asked me to wait, stepped aside to speak with several other employees, and returned stating that the price would be $650 instead. I expressed my concern about the significant increase form the previously quoted amount. The experience felt unprofessional, discourteous and racist. Additionally, I observed another customer being turned away shortly after which was an african american like myself, which added to my concerns about how customers were being treated. Based on this experience, I would encourage others to confirm pricing in writing before proceeding with service and better yet go somewhere else.

2.11.2026 Update: I spoke with Tim Covington, Regional Manager for Tire Discounters. He and I worked together to come up with a resolution that we both agreed to. Waiting for the resolution to be fully fulfilled. Normally I feel as though Tire Discounters (Taylor’s) does me really well. I’ve enjoyed doing business with them for my cars for years. They’ve even brought me out of a bind several times when I’ve had nails in my tires. So it makes me feel a bit conflicted writing this; however, I needed to air my frustrations. On Saturday February 7, 2026, I went in to get my tire looked at. I was okay with a new tire. They said they can patch it. Come back a couple of moments later, they patched the tire, but they said a stud broke on my tire. They blamed it on rust, extreme temperatures, and corrosion on the metal. They then said that I can ride on four studs instead of five. I’ve ridden on four studs before on my Altima so I didn’t think much of it. However, I remembered when I went to get new tires for that car, the tire salesman said he would not be able to let me leave with a new set of tires with that stud broken. After that interaction with TireDiscounters, I went straight home to think on it some more and do research. I found out that it’s extremely dangerous to ride on the incorrect amount of studs as it could distribute torque unevenly on the other studs. This could make them weaken, and will cause more expensive damage to that side of the car (uneven tire wear, axel issues, uneven stud stress, etc.). In other words, I should get that stud fixed asap. Fast forward to Monday, February 9, 2026, I come to the Honda dealership I trust. They said the TireDiscounters broke two studs, a regular one and the one that locks my wheel and has to be taken off with a key. So now it costs me over $290 to fix two studs on a tire that was patched for free. Also, because my stud with the key lock was broken, I have to get a whole new key set if I wanted to replace that ONE key lock because they aren’t sold individually. That would be an additional $115. Not exactly the start I needed for a Monday. This has damaged my trust with TireDiscounters.

I went to Taylor’s Tire Discounters for a vehicle inspection and was told my car failed because I needed new tires. I was immediately asked if I wanted to purchase tires from them, which raised concerns for me since my tires were not in poor condition. I declined and chose to get a second opinion. I later went to another inspection station and passed with no issues. Based on this experience, I would recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any repairs suggested here.

I get my oil changed here. The prices have come down a lot. Their prices are better than when they bought this store from Taylor Tires. They are getting the hang of it. Keep prices reasonable and people will come.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tire Discounters

How do I know if I need an alignment?

The #1 cause of uneven or rapid tire wear is misalignment. Your vehicle also may pull to one side or feel "loose" when steering, and you might even observe a drop in fuel economy. Alignment is critical to tire life and vehicle safety. In fact, if you install new tires on a misaligned vehicle, some manufacturers won't even honor your tire warranty. Everyday driving, potholes, hard turns, and sudden stops, gradually knock your wheels out of alignment. This wear is natural, but it can quickly chew through your tires. That's why Tire Discounters includes a FREE alignment ($129.99 value) when you purchase 4 tires installed. It's just another way we help you get more life (and more value) out of your tires.

How do I get a free alignment?

At Tire Discounters, when you purchase any 4 tires with installation, you get a FREE alignment. A 4 wheel alignment is valued at $129.99, and comes with a 12 month warranty.
