Michael and Dustin, I am correct, made the experience quick, fast, and easy without me feeling rushed. They offered additional services, explained the importance, and was not offended when declined. Price, convenience, and service with a smile!!

I went to get my oil changed and decided to get new filters after seeing their wear. I agreed to replacing them. Then the employee tells me it was going to take 10-15 minutes longer because they had to go get one from O’Rileys. I said go ahead that is fine after all my glove box is open with all the stuff that fell on the floor. I also asked 3 times to check my tire pressure. While I was waiting on the one guy to come back with the filter. A younger looking guy spoke to me. I asked can you check my tire pressure he said sure I can do that for you. . Once finally checked he told me to keep an eye on my back tire because it was at 15psi. (Good thing I asked 3 times and was persistent). Oil change complete, filters installed, tires checked, and everything paid, I left I was driving to my child’s school to pick her up. Before I arrived at school I happened to look down and see my engine light and oil light on. I stopped and immediately tried to call Valvoline. The telemated message was really adding to the stress and aggravation, along with the heat, no ac and worry about how to get my kid from school now. After about the 15 time (no joke) I finally got an associate on the phone. After explaining what was going on and where I was at Two employees drove out to where I had pulled over. It took about 20 minutes for them to get there after hanging up and about 10 minutes to check things over, replace new filter, oil it, take pictures, explain to me what happened. Someone had put the oil filter in wrong. They started the car and oil light went off but the engine light was still on. They told me to come back to Valvoline to reset it. They were extremely nice and apologized. They did offer to get my kid from school and they waited to make sure that I was able to be reunited with her before leaving (they only had to wait 1-2 minutes once they finished) because I was unsure if the parent I Flagged down was getting her, or the teacher from the school. I drove back to Valvoline and another man came to my car and set a code reader to it and he pushed several buttons many times and then told me to start the car . I’m not sure how many codes he actually cleared or what they were. I gave 2 stars because once I finally got someone on the phone it didn’t take them long to come to me to assist. But overall not very happy with the service this time. What should have been a quick 20 minute oil change ended up taking a lot longer, extra time, stress, and gas wasted. Hopefully that is the only problems and driving without the oil filter in the correct place didn’t mess anything else up. It appears there may have been quite a few new employees working that need extra training not just on how to install a filter but proper protocol. I have been loyal to Valvoline for many many years kind of unsure about returning.

My vehicle was inspected yesterday, Wednesday, March 19 in the afternoon. The attendant came to me and said, “ your car is ready, it failed.” He described how the emergency foot break needed adjusting. He said it rolled when the break was set. I said that I would have it checked. He insisted I go next door and they would repair it for $65.00. I said I’ll have it checked somewhere else. He insisted it would cost me more somewhere else and I should go next door. I drove directly to the Goldsboro Toyota service center. They pulled my car into their shop and it was back out in 10 minutes or so. The service line manager told me it passed. He further said that the emergency brake was functioning as it should. I paid for the second inspection. Then I drove to the Goldsboro license plate agency registration office and renewed my registration and tag. I then phoned Valvoline to make my complaint known. The phone call resulted in what I have read in there online reviews. The runaround. Then today someone called and put another person on the line which resulted in the same runaround. The did say they would have the area manager call when she was available. I asked to confirm her name for me. They refused to identify her, Then he (Michael) said it could be one of several people. My request was that I simply be refunded on my credit card for the failed inspection. I will be contacting the NC Highway Patrol investigation section to open a case in this matter. Also BBB will be notified. From the moment I drove into this Valvoline store on Spence Ave. I became suspicious. Things didn’t seem right. Then the failure for the emergency brake, the referral to next door, the insistence upon my refusal to go next door, the quoting of a price for repairs not associated with Valvoline operation. I’m patiently waiting on the refund…And a real district managers call…
