I drive a newer Toyota, so of course it’s more complicated than just a quick change of the battery. D was the person who ended up helping me and I cannot say enough good things about him! We thought I was going to have to reach out to my dealership to get a security code (they never called me back). D was able to get my battery switched out without my car completely resetting and needing the security code after all. He truly saved the day and was so kind and attentive in the process.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
