  The car I reserved was not available and was given a full size truck, which I was worried about the fuel consumption so the manager said to return it empty and she would wave the fuel cost. I was still charged for fuel when I turned it in and the truck was a pain to drive and park for conducting business visits.

  My experience at National Car rental Fayetteville Airport was disappointing. I reserved the car Friday for pickup on Sunday. When I arrived two employees were on their personal phones. They told me that they were not sure if the car had been cleaned and the tank filled with gas. I was told to take a picture of the gas gauge if it was not full. I found the car with a half inch of ice covering the car and front tires. I realize it was cold that morning, however knowing a car was going out one of the associates should have at least started the car so the ice could start to melt. Disappointing.

  Very Disappointing Experience – National Car Rental, Fayetteville Airport This was an extremely disappointing car pickup experience at National at the Fayetteville airport. When a customer makes a reservation, the expectation is simple. The vehicle should be ready on time. National expects customers to return vehicles on time, yet they did not meet that same standard. The service was unacceptably poor. There was no sense of urgency, no ownership of the problem, and no effort to correct the delay. The attitude was lackadaisical and dismissive, as if the customer’s time did not matter. Then when ai finally was assigned a vehicle it has cigar odor and ashes and empty. To only find out there is one clerk at the counter and manager is cleaning vehicles. Someone definitely needs to teach him what cleaning a vehicle means! This level of service reflects a breakdown in professionalism and accountability. It is the type of customer service failure that requires immediate correction. Experiences like this are exactly why customers lose confidence in a brand. National needs to do better. This was not a minor inconvenience. It was a failure to deliver on a basic promise.
