  Serious Safety Concerns – Do Not Recommend I’ve used Bobby Taylor Propane since buying my home in 2020, but this recent experience was extremely concerning. I requested a refill on January 30, 2026, when my tank was at 30%. On February 5, they filled it with 250.9 gallons, which pushed my tank well over 90%—far beyond the standard safe fill level of 80%. When I called to question it, staff and the manager (Timmy) repeatedly insisted it was “fine,” even though I was previously told by their own technician that tanks should never be filled past 80% for safety. I was told it was safe because it was cold outside, which made me even more uncomfortable. A technician named Jake later confirmed the tank should not have been overfilled and was the only person who acknowledged proper procedures were not followed. There wasn't truly a solution offered because according to management it was fine and that it will burn off and to get the correct level because the HVAC is running. This situation is not only irresponsible, but it also appears to violate North Carolina General Statute Chapter 119, Article 5, Section 119-58(a)(4), clearly states that it shall be an unlawful act for any person to fill a consumer tank or container in excess 85% of its water capacity. The same statute notes that violations may result in criminal penalties, injunctions, civil penalties, or regulatory action. I would suggest that this company retrain their employees on proper procedures and regulations and follow them! This company showed a complete disregard for customer safety, state regulations, and proper propane handling procedures. I no longer trust Bobby Taylor Propane and would not recommend.

  Im a contractor and I have used Bobby Taylor for all my work. These guys are the real deal. Timmy Parker is top notch I highly recommend them for any gas needs he goes above and beyond to get whatever you need. Give them a call for anything has related.

  I have used this company ever since we bought our home and they have always been great. Barbra is always so sweet and the only reason they still got an extra star. They came out on December 23rd and filled up our tank, given it was a holiday and money had been tight we were behind on our payments which we usually chipped away at without issue. Whenever the bill was paid they would come out and fill the tank again and repeat the cycle. This time our card was charged for the remaining balance without authorization. $500 might not be a lot to some people but we have 4 kids and the holidays hit us hard. We never had this issue before, Barbara offered as much help as she could but honestly this company isn't the same since it was sold they no longer care about the people, only that all mighty dollar. We always paid our bill without complaint, and understood they wouldn't come back out until it was paid and that was fine. It might have been late but it was always paid. I would advise using another company if possible or be able to pay the bill immediately.
