I had an appointment schedule for 2:15 on 2/28, got my car by 3:30. I travel to Durham for my car maintenance since I live in Fayetteville, just bc I like the service there. What stood out to me that the multi point inspection was all Good (green check marks) by the time I reached a stopping point I went to check my wiper fluid, I turned this truck in empty on the wiper fluid, and got it back the same way. This makes me doubt the integrity of Mark Jacobson staff with our vehicles. I paid $151.00 while I’m not the wealthiest I still count all my penny’s, I still expect to get my monies worth in services we are paying for. I didn’t have the energy to call and come back from Fayetteville since they closed at 4:00pm that day.

I have nothing but good things to say about MJT. A month ago I had trouble starting my car. Even though I finally got it started and had no problems in the next few days I decided to get it evaluated at MJT just to make sure everything was okay. They did a complete diagnostic and thorough evaluation and said they could not find anything wrong with my car and didn’t charge me a dime. I so appreciated that and knew I could trust them.
And, yesterday I took my car in because my trunk would not open. They fixed the problem and didn’t charge me for the diagnostic which would have been a little over $100. I have been a customer of MJT since 2014 and they definitely reward their loyal customers. They will definitely continue to get my business.

I purchased my 2025 Kia Seltos from Mark Jacobson Toyota of Durham in January of this year - and I decided to write a review to say that I’m so happy with my car and with the positive experience I had throughout my interactions with the entire sales team who worked with me. I would also highly recommend working with Fady, the salesman that assisted me that day. He was thoughtful and attentive to what I needed, helping me stay within my budget and got me into a car that I’ve been really happy with since my purchase.
I initially decided to visit this dealership because of the positive experiences that my close friends had shared with me before visiting and I can only agree with their reputation- that Mark Jacobson Toyota of Durham is a solid choice and trustworthy dealership to purchase a car from.

I usually have a great experience here but the most recent visit was unacceptable. I called about my recall months ago but was told the part was on back order and that I would be placed on the callback list when it was in, only to call in last week and hear that they are now in. So I went in for the recall today and was quoted 2-3 hour wait time, so I take the shuttle home.
1. The shuttle driver called me at 315 (note that my car was still not finished) asking was my car ready because he was on my side of town, but I couldn’t because I had a work meeting and apparently did not like some part of my response because he hung up on me. So when I called back, I asked what was the issue and he stated that he had enough pickups between 4 and 430 and that I could sit in the waiting area until my car was ready. Reminder that we spoke at 315 and my car wasn’t ready until after 5p….
2. I had to text and call Toyota twice to get an update, which usually comes through text and especially within 1-2 hours. Once I spoke to someone at 330, I was told that the recall was almost done but that I would receive another update on the battery - none received until I was notified via text that the car was ready for pickup at 506pm.
So not only did Toyota waste my whole day waiting, they provided no updates when I could have made other arrangements if the car was not going to be ready when they said or if taken longer than usual. And since the car was ready way later than expected, I am off schedule and unable to make it to a previously paid event later tonight because the wait time and updates were not communicated. This is unacceptable as I could have need my car in an emergency. If the service techs knew the car would not be done within 2-3 hours, they should have offered a rental. Not sure what happened with their hospitality or customer service but it needs to be looked into.

Did not rotate tires according to owner's manual. Did not respond to my questions about what they did so I can fix their mistake.
edit: customer service called me to state that since they usually don't do vehicles with 5 full size spares, that the tech aren't aware of that, so to make sure to mention it during service start. I mentioned that it's in the service manual — the rep said that it's written “just for the owners”.
Wow, if the dealer service department don't do what the owner's manual asks the owners to do. What is this service department good for?
Edit 2: got it resolved free of charge but still had to be extra vigilant due to service technician's video not describing the reason why the vehicle is getting reworked, correctly. Overall, everyone is being squeezed for time and rushing through work.
A lot of training opportunities.
