A couple months ago I was just passing by to learn more about what truck would be right for me. Jay York was great to talk to and wasn’t pushy at all. I’ll be back when the right truck comes in and I’ll work with him.

I worked with Nick to purchase my used truck, and the buying experience itself went fairly smoothly. Unfortunately, the problems started right after that......
I purchased a used truck, knowing that comes with some risk. To protect myself, I also purchased the 150k-mile warranty coverage, thinking it would minimize my exposure. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
During prep, the first truck I purchased ended up needing a new engine, so we had to switch to another truck — one year older, slightly fewer miles, and white instead of yellow. Within the first month of owning it, the AC went out (in July). Of course, that wasn’t covered under the warranty since I didn’t purchase the “comfort package.”
Maybe two weeks after that (45 days after purchase), my driver reported that something was wrong with the brakes because the air pressure was building slowly. At the dealership, we were told the airbags and leveling rod needed to be replaced — again, not covered under warranty.
A week after that (55ish days after purchase), a DEF system fault code began appearing on the dash and the truck began losing power. We took it to an International shop, assuming this would finally be covered under the warranty. Nope. They claimed it was a wiring issue, not a DEF system issue, meaning we had to pay out of pocket once more.
This has been my experience so far. At this point i'm thinking this dealer sold me a "lemon"! My advice: bring your own trusted mechanic to inspect the truck thoroughly, even after the Penske shops have finished their checks.
