Horrible experience. Tried to cancel my rental within the window but couldn’t get through. Thought I’d possibly need a rental from Charlotte to Asheville due to the government shutdown but the flight worked out in the end. You’d think Alamo could afford to refund me $160 but no. Dissatisfied and disappointed. Won’t ever rent through Alamo again.

If there were a zero-star option, Alamo would earn it.
I’ve spent a full week trying to resolve a simple billing error where I was charged the wrong price and to this day, it’s still unresolved. I’ve now spoken with nine different representatives, including multiple “escalation managers,” and not a single one has actually fixed the issue or followed through on their promises.
On three separate occasions, I’ve been told someone would call me back within 24 hours. Not once has that happened. Not one call. Every time I reach out, I’m forced to start the story over from scratch, and every person I speak to assures me they’ll “take ownership.” None ever do.
The lack of accountability and customer care is absolutely unacceptable for a company of Alamo’s size. What should have been a quick and easy resolution has turned into a complete customer service nightmare.
After this experience, they’ve permanently lost my business. I’ll be taking my rentals—and my company’s travel business—elsewhere.
Save yourself the time, frustration, and broken promises. Avoid Alamo at all costs.

All employees were friendly and easy to interact with, including the counter rep, the car selection guy in the lot, and the men at the return line. Helpful and pleasant. Had a Ford Bronco which was clean and in excellent condition. Was perfect for 4 of us friends to travel around S.Carolina. Would have given 5 stars except picking up the car took nearly an hour of waiting in line. I was 7th in the queue. Only 1 employee was working the counter and it was 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon. She was efficient but the computer system was not. She would enter data and then have to wait for it to process. I had prepaid to make things efficient, but the computer system was excessively slow. They need to invest in a faster system.

After picking up our rented SUV at the airport, I hit something on the road which caused a flat tire. I was able to get the tire changed to the spare (donut) in the car. We called in to the roadside number and were cared for in the sense that they wanted to know we were in a safe place. We let them know that we had changed the tire and wanted to know what the next steps were to not have drive around on a donut for the next 3 days. They "arranged" for a car swap if I drove the 20 miles or so to a sister location. Once there I was denied a car swap with the excuse that the software used at the airport was different than the software at this location, so nothing could be done. I called into the main help number and was told a manager would get this straightened out and call me back with details. I had somewhere I needed to be so I drove the 20 or so miles back and went about my day. About 4 that afternoon it dawned on me that I had not heard back from the manager, I called back in and they suggested that I drive another 20 or so miles to another airport in the area to swap the car. Got up the next morning and drove to that airport, they were obviously experiencing some kind of an issue because everyone that was there for their reserved cars was made to wait 20 minutes to an hour for a car to be available. After about an hour I was finally given keys to a small car (didn't really care what it was as long as it had 4 good tires), went out to the car and got in. I was immediately hit with smell of old smokers car, this really surprised my as it had been sometime since I had experienced that. Rolled the windows down and went on my way back the 20 or so miles to go about my day. The next morning (our final day with the rental) we got up and started the car to an audible alarm inside and warning lights that the coolant was low and needed attention. Not wanting to have to waste anymore time dealing with the roadside number and not wanting to overheat on the way to the airport later, I decided to just stop at the gas station and purchase and fill the coolant. After an inspection under the hood, I could not find a place to add the coolant so I was left to drive the 60 miles or so with my eyes glued to temp gauge. Thankfully we made it to the airport and returned the car. This was not a great experience with Alamo/Enterprise! They had no fault in the flat tire but all of the rest of the "care" that was given to my situation with their rented automobile was less than desirable.

**😡 Extremely Disappointed — Please Help Me, [Alamo]! 😡**
On **October 31, 2025, around 2:25 PM**, I returned my rental **white Chevrolet Suburban LT (Plate: 283-AYW, South Carolina)** at **Douglas International Airport**.
Barely **30 minutes later**, I realized I had left my **men’s blue Michael Kors jacket (size Small, engineered fabric)** inside the car. I rushed back immediately — only to be told the car was *already rented out again* and that “nothing was found.”
No one even tried to contact the next renter or check with the cleaning crew. The indifference was shocking. That jacket wasn’t just clothing — it was a **sentimental gift**, and the lack of care has left me truly disappointed.
@Alamo — please look into this urgently. Check your cleaning logs and contact the next renter. This experience has been incredibly upsetting for a loyal customer who simply expected better. 💔
