- TGTony GoinsNov 10, 20255.0The Customer Service experience at this location was the best that I've seen across the nation and I've been in quite a few Pilot/Flying J truck stops during my travels. Although this Candor NC location is in a rather small country town just off of Hwy 211 near the exit ramp to I-73 which was formerly Hwy 220 but as I entered it appeared that the place was short on help but this one employee comes up to me and she asks "can I help you with anything sir" and to my astonishment , I happened to look a little closer and she was stocking the coolers , she had just mopped the section of floor by the coffee machine area , then as I saw a couple customers ready to check out , this girl ran behind the counter and rang them up , at that moment a trucker comes in and she gets his info and has him set for a shower then she turns back to me and asks , "sir , if you need help with anything , I'd be glad to help you" and as I began to respond , I saw her pulling a trash bag out of a trash can and tying it up and heading towards the the door with a broom as I spoke up , " do you have any help here today or is it just you" and I loved the response , " the other girl on this shift just took lunch but if I had to , I could run this place alone and I saw that she definitely could and even as she was talking to me , she never once stopped with her own duties in the store and I have no clue what she's paid but from what I had seen , this lady was certainly a company asset and deserved to get a raise cause never have I seen a more dedicated or devoted worker than she was and if I can recall correctly, I think she told me her name was Shannon Marie and I had told her that I was very impressed by her work ethics and the way she greeted me with a smile but still maintaining her own duties in the establishment. I've not seen a more dedicated person ever before in my life and I even wanted to leave her a nice tip but she refused saying that company policy does not allow any of its employees to accept money from it's customers and that she loves her job and wouldnt risk it for something as petty as accepting a tip and she said thanks anyway sir and please come back to see us at Pilot Travel Center , enjoy your evening sir.. I paid for my coffee and fuel and walked out with a smile as she made me feel right at home in Candor North Carolina. If you ever up towards that area , I would highly recommend you stop in there and grab a good hot cup of coffee & if Shannon Marie happens to be working tell her the Tin Man sent you and see just how excellent the service is when she's there running things , you won't find a more corteous person than that lovely lady I met that day in that little country town , jif she was working for me I'd definitely give her a raise every couple months cause she's the kind of person that attracts business
