  Austin is always a pleasure to work with. Cost and service were in line with our expectations and their willingness to get us in was second to none. I only left one star off due to the expectation of our wait time. Initially the service was to take 1 hour, it took 2. However, I would rather the job be done right than rush. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars. Will be back for future work when needed.

  I have been going to this Mr. Tire on Jefferson Rd. for several years for both mine and my husband's cars. Today, my husband brought my 2024 vehicle with only 11,000 miles on it in for a simple inspection so we could renew the tags. They told us the car failed inspection due to significant wear on the inner part of all four tires due to poor alignment. Initially, they told us that the cost of four new tires with an alignment included would be $860ish. When we asked how much just the tires would be without the alignment included (in case we were able to get the tires cheaper somewhere else), the worker at the desk said they had made a mistake and it was actually going to be $1,039 for just the tires and almost $1,200 with the tires installed and aligned. This is a big difference from the initial $860 - but that's not the issue. My husband then took the same vehicle to two other places in Boone, both of which said the tires were fine and did not need to be replaced. For reference, Mr. Tire said the tires were measuring at 1/32 and 2/32. Both of the other places my husband took the car to measured those same exact tires at 5/32. So not only did Mr. Tire fail the inspection when it should have passed, they also lied directly to us about the measurements of the tires in order to get a sale. $1,200 is a lot of money to be conned out of. Luckily, my husband was able to get multiple second opinions and the car passed inspection just fine without purchasing over $1,000 in tires. Please beware when taking your vehicle here and always get a second opinion when possible.

  Took my car in for a simple oil change. I received 5 calls from them stating that I “need new roaders”. Asked for them to send a picture to show their state. Did not receive one. Employee on the phone was extremely pushy and insisted that I need to pay $1000 dollars on repairs. I should not receive 5 calls from them for a simple oil change. Didn’t get my car back until day 2, for a SIMPLE oil change.

  Great service and honest folks working at the 194 location. But the new automated/centralized call center is horrible. Long delays between replies and bad info given out. At 1:30, I arranged a 2pm appointment to get a tire fixed. Got to store and they were very busy with at least an hour or longer wait. Luckily, the kind person at the counter saw my frustration and fit me in quickly. Get rid of the new call center and go back to someone in the store to talk with on the phone.

  This might have been the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced… and I’ve been to the DMV on a Monday at 11:30 a.m. My power steering was acting up, so I pulled into Mr. Tire to see if they could check for leaks. Ten minutes later, they came back confident and said, “You need a power steering flush for $300.” I asked if there was a leak. They said no, but the fluid “might not be the factory spec.” I asked how they knew that, and they said… they didn’t. At that point, I declined. Suddenly the price dropped to $150, apparently it was half-off day for imaginary problems. When I passed again, they decided that simply looking at my truck for ten minutes cost $150. The guy kept calling it the “Di-og,” which I honestly thought was some power steering test until I realized… he just meant diagnostic. That’s when it hit me, they weren’t trying to fix my truck; they were trying to fix their bottom line. After a brief standoff, they dropped the “Di-og” fee and I drove off. Safe to say, I won’t be visiting Mr. Tire again… unless it’s to ask for directions to an actual mechanic.
