  2 incidents: 1st a couple weeks ago their machine wasnt working so couldnt pick up a rental and had to find my own way 4 hours up north then today: Spoke to the MANAGER (yesterday) in person to confirm a pick up time as i have to drive 6 hours for work. Show up at the 11:30am for my pick up time, they tell me it was booked for 5pm and cant help.

  As a long-term Platinum-Tier Enterprise member I am very well acquainted with the fleet, renting process, upgrades, and I promptly provide great reviews in response to all their corporate customer surveys - some companies describe that as "a valued customer". This, however, is not one of those great reviews, but rather a warning to clients considering one-way rentals. For my 24th Enterprise rental in 2025 I booked a vehicle from Moncton to Halifax, one month in advance of my visit. I opted for the largest sedan in the fleet (full-size) to ensure appropriate comfort for all passengers plus a generous trunk to secure our luggage and keep valuables out of sight. Upon arrival in Moncton we were offered a "free upgrade" to a Hyundai Kona. My inquiry for other options was answered with "no other vehicles are available, we are sold-out". Though dissatisfied with the choice, I accepted the key and took our luggage to the vehicle. To my (unpleasant) surprise this was not a recent Kona, but an old, first-generation 2022 model; for those unfamiliar with it, the previous version is definitely smaller - arguably the smallest sub-compact "crossover" on the market. It's essentially a tinny Hyundai Accent with some plastic cladding and can barely fit 3 carry-on suitcases. Not in the mood to haggle for a decent vehicle matching my booking, I accepted the downgrade and started our journey - until we reached the highway. There, I quickly realized the rear left wheel was making a loud growling noise, likely due to a failing wheel bearing. Between 11:40 and 12:15, I made five separate calls to the Enterprise branch at YQM to report the issue and request assistance - no one answered. This wasn’t a situation where leaving a voicemail was an acceptable option, so we returned to the airport in search of a vehicle suitable for a 2000–3000 km trip. Upon calling the Branch Manager, the polite staff member at the counter offered what was admittedly the "only other disposable vehicle considering this was a one-way rental" - a Nissan Kicks. Still not the comfort of a full-size sedan, no tonneau cover to hide our luggage and valuables, but I had to accept it with a sad smile and drove away. To summarize the experience: disingenuous interaction, a "free upgrade" insult, and a textbook bait-and-switch.

  I have been a fan of Enterprise for more than 20 years. Mostly I rented in the United States, most recently at Moncton airport in New Brunswick. What a delight it was to be upgraded to a BMW SUV. But it didn’t take that for me to appreciate them. Service was professional, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately I experienced a little glitch enroute, one that got corrected immediately once I returned from my overseas trip. Each phone encounter plus drop off at the Halifax airport to resolve this were handled with kindness and reassurance. In the end, I was fully reimbursed while connecting with awesome customer service. The Enterprise corporate culture showed up in spades again, from manager to regular staff. No hierarchy, everyone treats you the same! Thank you Enterprise. Until we meet again!
