    A summary of what occurred; WORST customer experience with my car hire from Alamo Bozeman that we have ever encountered Be very aware of what they don't tell you prior if you are not a local & plan to go to Yellowstone National Park as we did. My hire vehicle had medium mileage of 50,000 and whilst visiting canyon area in Yellowstone National Park, the vehicle displayed an error message upon restarting on the dash cluster that stated stop start malfunction or similar & to take vehcile to dealership. I turned car off & on 2 more times in attempt to clear message. Vehicle went into limp home or service mode, so would not accelerate & had no power. We were in a no cell coverage area & could not call for assistance. I recalled seeing the only garage on the way in a few miles away, so attempted to drive there at idle speed as accelerator would not work. We needed to drive up a slight inclined hill to get out of parking area & car struggled/crawled up hill & obstructed all outgoing traffic. We barely made it out. When we idled back to service garage (maximum speed car would do on flat was 10mph), we used the landline to call breakdown/ roadside assistance. The operator stated that as we were in a national park , they could not assist & we were on our own to get car out of park. I was not aware of this Federal law. I understand reason for though to protect the parks. & support this. The mechanic at the service garage checked the battery voltage & said was charging at 11v only so had what he believed was an alternator fault. We were then left with no option to tow vehicle at cost of $671 USD ($1050 AUD- which I had to pay to release vehicle), to park gate so that roadside emergency could pick up which they then arranged. So late in day, car is picked up by tow truck (with no vehicle sent as a replacement????) & I and my 78 year old Mother & 15 year old daughter were left stranded in West Yellowstone with our bags only in a parking lot, when our prepaid accomodation was in Jackson (3 hours away). After a dozen or so calls to roadside , in an attempt to arrange a replacement car or a uber or ride lift to nearest provider, they were unsuccessful in all attempts. The operator checked my location and suggested l stay at the hotel nearest my location until they could make arrangements for the morning. I asked who would pay & they said keep my receipts for claim. My Jackson accomodation was $622 AUD ($410 USD). I then paid another $377USD for the emergency accomodation!!!! The replacement car did not arrive until 2:30pm the following day so we were without car for 28 hours (from time of breakdown). Our plans to see this area had been ruined. When I returned replacement car to SLC, I explained what had happened, the Mgr said she will keep ticket open so I could claim against. The Bozeman office MGR then sent me an email requesting receipts which I did immediately, and within 10 minutes I received a receipt having been charged in full ($1700) for hire even though I was without a car for 30 hours with no explanation. I queried and the reply was claim would be handled separately. After a few weeks when I followed up, the same MGR said what was my address in USA that they could send a check to- knowing full well I was from Overseas & did not have one. I asked why it coudn't be reimbursed to my credit card that I paid with and received no further reply!! They had no intention of reimbursing & was waiting for me to return home overseas. Beware, very poor customer service! Many lessons learned! Very disappointing! I cancelled my last car hire with this company & will not use them again.
