Billy checked me out and told me Advance Auto Parts was discontinuing Fram filters and they had some goods deals. I bought one filter for $3.25 and a second Fram (different type of Fram) for $3.50. I appreciate Billy letting me know about the discounted items. Warren

- MWM WatersDec 28, 20255.0A big Thank You to Jacob Wilson at the Ridgeland, MS location for giving me GREAT customer service and having the best attitude! So rare these days! They did not have enough of the push-pins I needed to hold my engine shroud on so I had to go back for some more of the same part Jacob helped me with, I ordered them before I left. He was not there when I went back and the guys working there refused to put the additional push-pins on my car. It would have taken 5 minutes at the most. They told me they don't do that, I told them Jacob had done it for me. I left and did not buy the parts and was very disappointed to see no one else there cared. Doubt I will ever go back unless Jacob is there.

Does Advance Auto test and install batteries?
Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
