  Went this morning for a battery test, left with a brand new battery installed in less than 15 mins! I was greeted with punctuality and kindness as soon as I walked in the door. The gentleman who helped me was quick but thorough! Thank you for a great experience!

  First, I have had many good experiences at this Auto Zone. As far as my recent purchase/canceled order, I ordered a battery online and it was a disaster. The website said the very common truck battery was available at the Gluckstadt location. I paid for the battery, and the transaction went through. I received a confirmation email. A few hours later I got an email saying the order was ready. After work, I went to pick up the battery. When I arrived the employee looked for the battery but was unsuccessful. He asked his co-worker for help. A co-worker came from the back and said the order had been cancelled, which was news to me since I was there to pick up the battery. He also said they no longer sell the particular battery which seems unusual since it was for a 2012 Silverado. The same battery is used in many year model Silverados. He said he called me about the canceled order. I never spoke to anyone from Auto Zone. I didn’t receive a voicemail or a canceled order email. After looking, I did have a missed call from a random Jackson, MS number. I assume that was “Auto Zone.” I informed the employee that like most people I get many random scam/telemarketer calls each week and that leaving a message would’ve helped. Like most people I don’t answer or call back random numbers. When most people call about a transaction that is over $200, they leave a voicemail or follow up with an email saying the order was canceled. I never received a voicemail or an email saying the order was canceled. I asked if Auto Zone provided a cancellation receipt or email showing the order was canceled to which I was told no. I was told there is no proof given that my over $200 order was canceled, and I would get a refund. That seems unusual. The whole process seems flawed. After checking, the number that called me “to tell me my order was canceled” isn’t listed as the number for Auto Zone. I assume the number that called me was likely a personal cellular telephone. I recommend employees moving forward use the official Auto Zone telephone number for business calls. The official telephone number showing up may increase the likelihood of the conversation occurring or alert the customer to call back. Using the official Auto Zone telephone number may even come up as Auto Zone on the telephone caller ID. A voicemail and or a cancellation email also seem like simple and likely solutions to avoid confusion and keep the customer from making a useless trip to pick up an order that was supposedly ready. I didn’t get my battery that night, but I traveled a few more miles and got it at Advance Auto Parts without any difficulties. I’ll continue to drive the extra distance to Advance Auto Parts to avoid a the lack of professionalism and bad attitudes at Auto Zone.
