I made it down the road and saw a message on the car and it says B-1 service past due 712 miles. We were told they didn’t have anything comparable. We started our Journey and have been on the phone with Alamo Customer Service and road side service 4 times and still have gotten no help. Customers beware Alamo is the absolute worst company to do anything with!
- JJjulace578Dec 24, 20251.0On December 21st, I experienced discrimination due to my hearing disability, in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), by the person in charge at the rental counter. The employee refused to provide the vehicle I had already paid for, using the excuse that my driver’s license was not valid. I am a foreign national and have rented vehicles multiple times in the United States using the same valid driver’s license without any issues. The refusal was not based on a legitimate policy consistently applied, but rather appeared to be a pretext that resulted in discriminatory treatment related to my disability. Despite denying me the vehicle, no one made any effort to process or offer a refund for the amount already paid. This left me both without transportation and without my money. Because this occurred at approximately 10:00 PM, I was left stranded. Hertz was located right next door, and I went there, where I was able to rent a vehicle immediately, without any excuses or discriminatory barriers. This experience was humiliating, distressing, and deeply hurtful. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of reasonable accommodation, professionalism, and respect for federal disability rights. Due to this incident, I will never rent again from Alamo or any affiliated companies, including National. I expect this matter to be taken seriously, reviewed internally, and addressed in accordance with ADA requirements, including appropriate corrective action and reimbursement, to prevent similar discrimination against people with disabilities in the future.
