    We rented a car from Alamo and our shuttle driver from the airport was not good at all. He did not help with our luggage and even saw me struggling to get my suitcase up the steps and just sat there. The reason I’m giving it four stars is because of our shuttle driver back to the airport. Her name is Sharon and she is the sweetest woman. She also helped with all the luggage. This is our second time having Sharon drive us and she was wonderful both times. She deserves a raise!

    Always a great experience with the STL Alamo team. Friendly staff all around, especially the shuttle drivers who make the less-than-ideal rental car setup feel enjoyable with their upbeat energy and perfect amount of banter.

    One of the worst rentals I've ever gotten. Snow canceled my flights. I had to rent a one way then exchange at another place. I had to grab another rental from budget. I asked for help, for a ride to the rental facility down the street. Manager told me, "sorry we dont have the manpower" as three people sat behind the desk on their phones, no one in line. They couldn't be bothered to help me just wanted my money. What happened to professional courtesy? Or service? It's below 25 and snowing. I was forced to walk to the other facility. I'll never rent from Alamo again.

    The team at both Alamo locations were very friendly and professional, and I appreciated the service overall. That said, they did not have the vehicle I originally reserved and placed me in a pickup since I was doing a one-way rental from St. Louis, MO to Pasco, WA. I accepted the pickup under the assumption it was a 4x4. The following day, I discovered it was actually a two-wheel drive. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I honestly wasn’t aware that pickups were still commonly rented as 2WD, and that information would have influenced my decision. I’m an experienced driver and made it home safely, but the drive included high winds, snow, and icy conditions. Not every customer would have been comfortable—or capable—of making that trip under those conditions in a 2WD pickup. It may be worth ensuring the team clearly explains the capabilities and limitations of the equipment being provided and allows the customer to make the final decision with that information upfront. Even a brief verbal clarification could help set expectations and improve safety for future renters.

    We completed online check-in but still needed assistance at the counter as the directions to our rented car / car lot were not clear. Vehicle lots were not well-marked with signage. We waited in a long line for ONE attendant to assist those who had not completed check-in online. At the counter, we showed the clerk our code for online check-in, and she directed us to the unmarked lot to select one of 3 compact cars available. Exiting the lot, there was also a line with just ONE attendant. We were asked all of the questions (insurance, extra protections, gas, etc) as if we had not finished the check-in process or those questions should have been asked at the counter. Returning the car was simple and well-marked. Multiple attendants were available to assist numerous lanes. Our attendant was extremely friendly and happy first thing in the morning. The airport shuttle was timely and the driver very friendly and helpful.
