    Been trying to contact a human for three hours. Customer service says they’ll “email the branch.” Even airport police isn’t able to get them to answer the phone for me. Dang. This is how they treat “Platinum” members?

    After getting to the airport a day later than I planned because I missed a connecting flight, my reservation at another rental agency was not honored even though I modified the date online so I will try not to let that experience cloud this review. I went to the Sixt office at the airport needing a car without a reservation and needing it now because I need to get to a relatives. The gentlemen that helped me was nice enough and told me the only thing they had available was a Toyota Tacoma and it was over $80 a day. I was a little hesitant but needed a vehicle. I asked him a few times to make sure there was nothing else because at that price I would expect a little more than a smaller pickup. I agreed to it and drove off in the vehicle. The vehicle itself had a few issues. First I noticed that it had no acceleration power, also it was only equipped with USB c ports and not regular USB ports so I was not able to charge my phone and I was not able to connect my phone to the truck either. The screen in the truck would just go blank every time I tried to connect I have never had any issues pairing my phone to any rental that I paid a lot less for. I had no issues mechanical with the vehicle and bringing back the vehicle was easy. I just feel that the value was not there for the price that I paid.

    DONT WALK BUT RUNNNN FROM THIS PLACE!!!! This place is CROOKED. I rented a car from them. I reported all the damages on the vehicle during the pick up process. Took pictures using the their QR code. (Little did I know these pictures do not save on my phone and go into their database from which it is impossible to view the pictures later to try to prove that the damages on the vehicle are pre existing) During the return process the attendant told me he would check in the car later and send me a receipt. I told him no and that we need to go over all the damages now. He gave me a report saying no new damages incurred. A day later I get an email telling me that I damaged the car! This place is a SCAM. The attendants are incentivized by management to try to poach you for your hard earned money. After farther research it turns out that this company has had class action lawsuits for this exact SCUMMY practice. DONT WALK BUT RUNNNN FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

    Rented a car and updated the pre existing damage with pictures to the QR code provided at pick up. Note they will not have an employee verify this damage. They would not send me a copy of this condition report to my email. At drop off of vehicle the employee asked if he can complete the drop off inspection later and send me a email. I requested an inspection with me present. The employee and I signed the check in paperwork saying no damage reported and full fuel. Next day I get an email showing pictures of the damage that I reported at pickup and them saying that I caused this damage and a claim was open for me to pay for this damage. I emailed them the no damage signed of check in paperwork stating no damage and they showed me the small print at the bottom saying that this is not the final damage inspection and that the vehicle will go thru a 2nd inspection without my presence to note addition damage not caught at drop off. This is fraud happing in plain site. Read all reviews and look up the SIXT facebook complaint page. They have former employees write about how this company encourages and bounces employees to open damage claims. SIXT also had a massive class action lawsuit that just settled for over 11 million due to these same allegations. I will never rent from this company again.

    I recently had the absolute worst experience renting a car from SiXT, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. We arrived at the rental counter after a long flight, exhausted and ready to get on the road, only to be told that they couldn’t process my credit card due to some internal system error on their end. It wasn’t my card’s fault—everything was fine on my side—but they acted like it was my problem to solve. Instead of offering any real solutions or apologies, they just shrugged it off and wasted our time while we stood there with our luggage and my 15-month-old son fussing in his stroller. To make matters worse, they then informed me that the only way to proceed was to pay an extra $500 for the exact same car I’d reserved, claiming it was some kind of “alternative payment fee” or whatever nonsense they made up on the spot. I was furious, but with a toddler in tow and no other immediate options nearby, I had no choice but to swallow my pride and hand over the money. We desperately needed the vehicle to get to our destination, and arguing would have just prolonged the ordeal for my little one. It felt like outright extortion, especially since this was entirely their fault to begin with. The cherry on top was the rude woman at the counter who handled the whole thing with zero empathy or professionalism. She rolled her eyes, and made snide comments about “people not being prepared.” SiXT clearly doesn’t value their customers, and this experience has left me vowing never to use them again. Save yourself the headache and go with literally any other rental company—1 star is generous.
