Three weeks earlier, I took my overheating Malibu to their shop and received a quote of $ 1,564.34 for a new radiator and labor. After agreeing to the repair, they informed me that they couldn't fit the new part and needed to take the car to another shop for necessary adjustments. Upon inspection, I found that my old radiator had been reinstalled despite being charged for a new one. Today, I was told my bill would be $3964. When I arrived at the shop and brought up the issue with my old radiator, they couldn't deny it. Buddy's Automotive had reinstalled the old radiator and deducted $300 from the total bill. I then tried to pay by check, but Buddy’s Automotive refused to accept it, insisting on cash. Despite all this, the overheating problem reoccurred on my way home. I believe the service I received fell far below the expected standards, and the high cost did not reflect the quality of work. I feel completely taken advantage of and would strongly advise against using Buddy’s Automotive. On 10/7/2024, I took it to Cable Dahmer Chevrolet for a second opinion about what was wrong with the car. The diagnosis confirmed I need a new engine, which I believe was the original issue.

I tried to explain to him what was going on with my vehicle and for some reason he had a snappy response to everything I said. Tried to explain to him what codes were going off so it would help them a little more but kept over riding me saying ”we still have to do a diagnostic” over and over. Wouldn’t even let me talk to the mechanic that was going to work on my vehicle. Not to mention the comment he made to my mom when she walked through the door for an 8 o’clock appointment “we need to keep that door locked”.
