  I absolutely love the selection of products available at bass pro shops. I am also a shopper who just likes to browse and be left alone. If I have a question or looking for something in particular, I’ll find an associate and ask. Today I did that on a couple of occasions. One, I was looking for cup holder for my boat that could be mounted to one of the versatrac holders. They didn’t have one, but the associate was very accommodating and helped me look. The second question I had was for the boat department as well. Since I recently just purchased a new tracker boat and trailer. I am looking for steps to add to the trailer and all I simply wanted to know. Is there a way to measure so that I can order the correct steps for my set up. In a quick response I was just told to go to the parts department and they would make sure I get the one I want, and walked away. This is a big reason why I didn’t purchase my boat from this particular location. So yes, I’ll go back to my tracker maintenance center in Branson to get my question answered. Further more, it is totally annoying to walk around, I spent about an hour. Was approached four times about applying for the credit card. Totally annoying, especially since I already have the card and use it frequently. Can we just go back to allowing me to shop? I might even relax, stay longer and spend more money? Finding something else that I absolutely don’t need, but buy anyway.

  We purchased a boat from Bass Pro Shops at the start of summer after the sales team made clear, reassuring promises about the warranty and included service. At the end of the season I called to schedule the promised annual service — nothing was ever disclosed about additional charges. When I arrived 15 minutes early and spoke with the service department, I was told there is a fee, and the rep casually shrugged that he’d never seen one without it — a direct contradiction to what we were told when we bought the boat. When I asked for a timeline I received nothing but evasions: “I don’t know,” and “we’ll get to it when we get to it.” No estimate, no accountability, and no sense of operational control. For a national retailer, that level of after-sale ambiguity is unacceptable and feels more like a deliberate gap between what’s sold and what’s delivered. This was not a minor oversight — it was a pattern: a polished, pleasant sales front end followed by dismissive, disorganized service once the sale was closed. As someone who runs a business, I expect basic transparency and follow-through; Bass Pro Shops failed on both counts. If you’re considering a purchase here: speak directly to the service department before you buy, insist on written confirmation of any warranty and included service, and do not rely on verbal promises. Others beware — buyer protections matter, and in our experience Bass Pro Shops did not honor the ones they sold. - another manipulated customer
