This location was highly disorganized. I usually receive my rental car within about 10 minutes because I always make my reservation in advance. Very bad experience and more to come. I
When I arrived and showed my reservation, the staff informed me that there were no clean cars available. I was surprised. What is the purpose of making a reservation for a specific time if the vehicle is not ready when the customer arrives?
After waiting another 40+ minutes, the representative returned and said the car did not have gas and only had about 14 miles of fuel left. He then asked whether I wanted the car to be filled. I was quite surprised that these kinds of questions were even being asked and that the vehicle had not been properly prepared despite the reservation.
I finally received the car at around 6:03 PM, almost an hour later. When I got inside, it smelled strongly like someone had been smoking in it really bad. The odor was very bad, and I am allergic to smoke. I made sure the agent, Peter, noted this issue. I asked whether this was my only option, since it was already 6:00 PM and the location was about to close. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I am a corporate account holder, and this was the level of service I received. I can only imagine what other customers may go through. I also have audio and video recordings of the conversations and of how the situation was being handled, which made the experience even more disappointing.
In addition, the staff could benefit from customer service training. The interaction felt unprofessional, and the entire process seemed poorly managed.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for brands like Enterprise and National, where a smoother and more professional rental process is expected. I am going to call my Emerald's to complain.
