I'm sorry that I'm terrible with names but I'm the guy that came to your door limping with a cane and you opened the door before I could? I just want to say thank you very much! That act of kindness means more to me than I can express, tyvm.

My windshield cracked after a rock hit my windshield on the highway due to construction. I was required by insurance to use Safelite to replace my window. Just pay my deductible. Ive used them before and thought, okay. That time went well, no worries. Cool, scheduled my appointment online and they`ll come to me. This is very convenient. Got a call the day before saying they would not be able to make it because the tech called in sick. Rescheduled for a week later. Okay, that`s fine, things happen. Got a call a week later saying they were still unable to make it, and someone would call me to reschedule. Okay. I understand, weather was bad. As long as it gets done correctly, I can wait. No one ever called. I wasn't able to get anyone on the line. 7 days later, I get a knock at my door asking for my keys so they could install the new window. I wasn't even aware they were coming, but luckily, I was home (I would usually have been at work but was working from home that day). Window got replaced but was told he was unable to recalibrate, so my dashboard is now lit up like a Christmas tree and some of the safety features will not work. He said I would need to take it in, and someone would call me to let me know when. I thought, okay, this is a lot less convenient, would have done that from the start had I been aware it cant be done by sending someone out. But okay, as long as it gets done, I will figure a time to take off work for a couple hours to get up there. Went out to look at my windshield after the tech had left ( I was working and couldn't go out while he was there) and it is improperly sealed, looks like it is actually sticking out from where it should be, leaving it a lot more susceptible to future cracks. Guess this is how they make money (not to mention $1,250 for a piece of glass is outrageous, I got a quote from a local place for $650 for the same thing but my insurance wouldn't allow me to go there, and I had already paid Safelite). A week has passed by, still no call. I called them, sat on hold for 27 minutes going through AI prompts trying to get to a representative. When I got a rep on the line, was told no one was available to schedule my appointment and someone would call me and they would note my file. It has now been 8 days and still no word from anyone. Once again, can't get anyone on the line. So, my husband was off work and decided he would just drive it up to the Ofallon location to have it done. They scheduled it for Thursday. So why couldn't someone call me for this? And why do I need 3/4 of a tank of gas at nearly $4 a gallon to get my windshield replaced?
