I like Midwest Autoworx.. this was the first time being at that facility but they have a very nice waiting room with a TV, coffee and water.

After device was installed my windows wouldn't roll up. My blinkers weren't working. Hood popped message displayed. Service 4x4 system displayed. I wad sposed to surprise my kids for father's day. Got stuck at Service center andvhad to get picked up. Ruined my whole fathers day weekend plans. Round 3 of terrible customer service. 2 or 3 days a week I've tried to reach someone that I can be understood by and vise versa. After being put on hold for 40+ minutes at a time to get hung up on or told to call back is very frustrating. Not only was I yelled at by one of your employees over the phone I was charged an extra $100.00 on this billing cycle. The most infuriating part I couldn't even understand his "english" and when asking for his name he yelled at me again! Intoxalock do better. I liked the AI lady that almost sounded real better. At least I could Understand her and didn't waste valuable time out of the day. 0 starts 0

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
