- MAMelanie AnneDec 12, 20241.0Dean didn't introduce himself, I was broadsided with my vehicle and Dean seems less than impressed to fix my truck. Full coverage with insurance. Told me he would email me an estimate within 2 hours and it's now been 9 days. I contacted another shop who will be doing a much better job anyways then HEI was telling me. Don't waste your time at this shop. Terrible customer service in my opinion, I was still a paying customer This shop never attempted to call me like they claim in the response. Don't take your vehicle there. All I wanted was for my truck to be fixed. That's OK, Jonny Rocks Body in Glencoe is getting my business instead

I picked it up only to discover that the paint was cracked from them applying too much pressure reinstalling my bumper. I called and complained and they took it back, but made sure to tell me "there's no real cosmetic damage here but it should buff out". Well ok, that took another 3 days as it was over the weekend. I went and picked it up and then this time there was sanding scuffs beyond the tape line. When I went and complained, the general manager got snippy with me and said "well I fixed all the scuffs in your bumper for free and I told you this would never be a perfect job". I was never told such a thing, and there were never any scuffs besides the one I came in to have fixed. This was also an out of pocket job. Another day later and I have my vehicle back and now seems fine. But the inconvenience was very real. In total I went over 7 days without my vehicle for a cosmetic job

I reached out to HEI multiple times (I left voicemails) with no return phone calls. Communication is key in my opinion and it would’ve been nice to have updates on the progress. I only found out the car was finished by calling (yet again). One minute I was told it was over the threshold to be totaled (after it was already fixed) and then I hear it wasn’t. Having new employees isn’t an excuse in my book. I don’t appreciate the inconsistency in communication with me as well as my insurance provider. I’m not one to leave reviews normally but I felt this needed to be shared.
