The install went fine. Since I got the install I haven't been able to start my car because of my COPD! I didn't know this Intoxalock was such a crappy unit that would make you jump through 15,000 hoops! I normally don't have a problem with my breathing but even AFTER taking my nebulizer medicine I STILL couldn't get my car started!! Now I have to jump through hoops to get the state to approve Rigs to Rods to recalibrate the device so I can drive my car. Seeing as how I can't use my car is why I haven't paid for something I can't use yet!
Today I talked to them, explained the situation, told them to get the required information to the state, the state to approve it and ok Intoxalock to recalibrate my device would probably take a month. They have given me a credit until the first of August to complete this without charge as I can't start my vehicle and use it. I appreciate their assistance and compassion, now it's up to me to find the records, fax them and wait for notice from Intoxalock! I have my fingers crossed!!! Thank you Intoxalock!!!!! 💕

Support is very good on this product. It is pretty easy to use. I could see where someone with respiratory issues would have a problem with it, but if you do not have any problems like that, it works just fine.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
