- C2Counterwieght 28Aug 17, 20252.0I got an oil and oil filter change here during late spring. To be fair, they got me in quickly and completed the job in a very short amount of time. However, flash forward to now where I go to change my own oil in the comfort of my driveway, and what typically is a 25 minute job turned into a 3 hour slog because somebody at this shop decided to tighten the oil filter as hard as they could. I instantly knew I was in trouble when I went to take off the lower plastic engine cover and almost stripped out the screws. Everything they touched was horribly tight, I was lucky to get the oil drain bolt out without stripping it, but the oil filter required multiple trips to the store to find a filter wrench that would get me enough leverage to get it off. Freaking unacceptable, anyone who has ever laid a hand on a car engine knows that just past hand tight for an oil filter is the max. Don’t take your car here unless you like adversity next time you change your own oil.
