- CBCrystal BrownNov 12, 20251.0I made a reservation for pickup today and chose to pay with my debit card, as the company’s website indicated that debit cards are accepted. Upon arriving at the airport location where my reservation was made, I was informed that debit cards are not accepted there. I was then instructed to change my reservation to the downtown Minneapolis location. I contacted customer care and spoke with Mohammed, who explained which documents would be required. I asked if he could please call the downtown location to confirm the requirements since I would be taking an Uber there. He did so, and they verified the information. Shortly after, I received a call from the downtown location, and they again listed the required documents.I went home to gather everything they requested. However, when I arrived at the downtown Minneapolis office, the representative immediately asked for my driver’s license and credit card, stating they could not accept my debit card because it was not from a “local bank.” I have never heard of such a restriction — my bank is reputable, secure, and I’ve been with them for over eight years without any issues. When I mentioned this, the representative changed his explanation and said they only accept a utility bill as proof of address. I provided that as well, yet he still refused to process the rental and made no genuine effort to assist. Overall, I was given inconsistent and misleading information from multiple Sixt representatives, which resulted in wasted time, unnecessary Uber expenses, and a very frustrating experience.

When I dropped the car off it was spotless and extremely clean in the inside and on top of that I don’t smoke or vape. Next time you rent take as many photos and videos before they try to scam you

We reached out, and were told it’s their policy to throw everything left in the car out. We were devastated as these pieces were purchased as gifts and cost several hundred dollars. It would have been easy enough to call us so we could pick them up.

We returned our car early and they let us know we could return at the airport free of charge as long as it was returned by the designated time, saving us the time and money we would have spent on the train.
