I waited in line for over an hour for an oil change. I already knew it was going to be awhile considering there was already a line when I arrived. However, this part was not an issue for me. I drove past two other locations and they were also busy. While I was in line, two different employees came out at two different times to ask each vehicle what services they were there for and that they're trying to get everyone in and out as quick as they could. I told both of them that I was there for an oil change. At no point did anyone mention that the shop was out of conventional oil, which is what I use in my vehicle. Considering that they knew they were out of conventional oil prior to talking to each person in line, no one mentioned their oil shortage after I told them that I was there for an oil change. It would have been the ideal time to let customers know there was no conventional oil available. When I finally got into the garage, they then decided to inform me about the oil shortage. Their explanation was that the delivery truck didn’t bring them any conventional oil and that there is a “conventional oil shortage.” I asked them why they didn't say anything to anyone outside and their reasoning was "we assumed you were running the higher quality oil considering the age of your vehicle". I drive a 2007 Kia. I was pushed toward MaxLife or synthetic, which are the only two other remaining options. The employee told me that he recommended that I call ahead next time to ask if conventional oil is available. My third option was "we can close your hood and you can try another location". On top of that, the usual services weren’t completed. My tires weren’t filled (shows on my invoice a PSI of 35 which is false), the cabin filter wasn’t checked, and the lights weren’t checked, even though those things have always been done at every Valvoline I've been to. The worker clicked through the “good/recommended/bad” sections on the computer without actually inspecting anything. He marked everything as "good" and marked the cabin filter as "recommended". I was given a $15 discount on MaxLife oil by their manager, but they wouldn’t honor the online $10 coupon on top of it. So the “we’re sorry” discount was technically only $5 (it's as if I used the online coupon and they added another $5 to equal $15 all together). I asked them if I'd have no choice but to use MaxLife every time after this if I were to get that one today and he said no. I hope he was telling me the truth. Overall, the experience was very frustrating. Better communication while customers were waiting in line would have made a huge difference. I am normally not the type of person that asks for a manager. But my experience this evening really made me upset. I would have gladly tried another Valvoline location if they would have informed me about the oil shortage while I was in line.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this valvoline. They did not check my filters nor ask if I wanted to replace them. Then, at checkout, Aaron the lead technician told me that they would not honor the coupon I had directly from Valvolines website. This is straight highway robbery. I would have gone elsewhere had I known they wouldn't honor their own coupon. Safe to say I will not return to this location
