I picked up the car and took it to a different shop where I got them fixed for $150... not only did they try to rip me off, but I got charged for it.

The part they wanted to use (which is what made it so expensive) was the most expensive one after doing some of my own research on power steering lines for my specific car online. I asked if they could use a cheaper part and they said it was not possible because it is the company’s policy and they was nothing they could do. Explain to me why it is the company policy to charge people the most money they can by using the most expensive parts….I proceeded to take it to tires plus and they said it would only be $200. $400 dollar difference is insane and seems like a big scam to me. I would’ve paid more than $200 for just the labor not including the part at Car-X. I’ve had this problem with them before where they want to charge a ridiculous amount for their services or after you get the quote they charge you way more once you go to pick it up. Do your research before deciding to let them work on your car to make sure the quote isn’t insane.
