I had to install intoxalock into my now second car because the first one was totaled and AGAIN right at the beginning intoxalock couldn't even get my vin number correct. So now I'll have to call them to fix it and they will tell me they can't do that for A SECOND time and because they provide the worst service I've ever experienced, I mean the terrible service here is unmatched, I'm guessing they won't even contact the state to update them about my information, so I'll have to go to the dmv myself to update that. (fun fact, I was driving illegally for three months because this happened once before and am now fighting a ticket for their incompetence) There are other companies that provide this service, please for your own sanity GO TO THEM. ashamed I even have to leave them a star to review them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
