I’ve been a Penske customer for years and rarely felt the need to leave a review, but the experience I had with Chelsea (manager at this branch) left me no choice. What occurred here was a strategic failure in customer service, fleet management, and basic respect for drivers.
Instead of switching my unit for a simple PM and fixing a mass issue, as requested and approved, Chelsea unilaterally decided to pull the truck and send it to a body shop — right before the July 4th holiday. She did this without consulting the Las Vegas corporate office, which owns the truck. In my understanding, this decision was not based on urgency or safety — but on convenience, to avoid overloading her team with a PM right before the holiday.
What followed was chaos:
• I was given a replacement unit with immediate fluid leakage.
• After the branch closed, a nearby Penske location (thankfully with more professional staff) gave me another subunit, which turned out to be completely unreliable — electrical issues, wheel problems, and constant breakdowns.
• The tires were dangerously bald, and yet this location refused to replace them, measuring every millimeter instead of following safety-first policies. Other branches have no issue prioritizing tire safety — but not here.
As a result, I lost critical time, missed the chance to spend Independence Day with my children, and spent the holiday struggling with equipment that never should’ve left the yard.
And Chelsea? No apology. No responsibility. No coordination with corporate. She acted independently, disregarding both driver safety and inter-office communication protocols.
This was not just poor management — it was negligence.
I strongly recommend avoiding this branch until it undergoes serious training and leadership correction. Other Penske locations are helpful — this one is a complete liability.
