    had a frustrating experience at the Advanced Auto Parts in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. I went in yesterday to return a coolant reservoir I purchased the week prior. When I bought it, I specifically asked the employee to put the purchase under my account so I wouldn’t need to keep the receipt. I was told it was done, so I discarded the receipt. When I came back to return the item, the same gentleman remembered selling it to me, but for some reason the purchase could not be found under my account. Because of that, they initially refused the return and said there was nothing they could do without the receipt. This was very upsetting, especially since I took the extra step to make sure it was attached to my account for this exact reason. The system failure ended up being my problem, not theirs. Thankfully, at the last minute another customer behind me was kind enough to help by using his ID so the return could go through, since the only other option was using my driver’s license, which I didn’t have on me at the time. I appreciated that individual’s willingness to help, but overall the customer experience was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this location unless you absolutely have to go there—and if you do, definitely keep your receipt no matter what they tell you.
