Excellent customer service. I have been coming to this franchise for 10 years. It is recently under new ownership, and it shows. The service, quality, and overall experience were a major improvement compared to my previous visits. I recommend you ask for Scott. He is a great service advisor, good communication, and is a licensed mechanic with decades of experience in the business. Scott is very friendly and will explain your repair options with clarity and in a way you will clearly understand.

To make a long story short, I took my car to Tuffy (for the first time) for low oil pressure light intermittently displaying and for an oil leak. I purchased a 3rd party warranty service contract when I bought my car. Tuffy had my car for 3 weeks while we were waiting for the 3rd party claims adjuster to go through their steps to approve the repairs. The adjuster denied the claim. Ugh! But once Scott found out they denied the claim, my car was put back together the same day.

I normally don’t write reviews… but after this experience, I had to.
About three weeks ago, my sister and I stopped at our usual oil change place because we had a 5-hour drive to Ohio the next day. Simple plan: check the oil, check tire pressure, make sure the car wouldn’t betray us halfway through the trip.
Everything was going smoothly… until it wasn’t.
One of my tires had a metal cap on the valve stem (because apparently I like to make life harder for myself). It was stuck. The technician warned me multiple times: “I don’t think this is a good idea.”
Naturally, I heard: “This is absolutely a great idea, let’s try everything.”
So we tried pliers. Then hot water. Then a socket wrench. At this point, it felt less like car maintenance and more like a DIY science experiment.
And then…
pssssssssssshhhhhhhhh.
I managed to pull off not just the cap—but half the valve stem too. Air started rushing out like my tire was announcing its retirement.
The poor technician thought he was going to lose his job. Meanwhile, my sister and I are like, “Don’t worry! This happens to us all the time!”
(For context: it happens because we make it happen.)
With my finger plugging the valve like a human cork, we somehow patched it enough to limp out of there and head to the nearest tire shop… which, of course, was closed. Because why wouldn’t it be?
We called another place—no help. Called again—still no help. Finally, we called Tuffy, and Scott answered.
At first, he sounded busy (because he was), but after hearing our situation, he said, “Come in. It might take 30–45 minutes.”
To us, that sounded like: “Your day is about to be saved.”
He gave us clear, calm instructions on how to drive there safely (hazards on, slow speed, protect the tire), and we made it.
From the moment we arrived, everything changed.
They took the car in right away. Scott reassured us: “We’ll take care of it.” And after the stress we’d just gone through, that alone meant everything.
While waiting, I discovered something shocking: the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen… in a mechanic shop and most of resturants I've been to. I immediately sent my sister in to confirm, because this level of cleanliness needed a second opinion. She came out equally impressed. We were genuinely amazed.
When we complimented Scott, he was so kind and appreciative—it just added to the whole experience.
Then came the “uh-oh” moment: the repair was more involved than expected and would normally cost about $100.
Honestly? After everything, we were just grateful it could be fixed the same day.
But then—another surprise.
Scott said they wouldn’t charge us.
At that point, I was just overwhelmed with gratitude. After a stressful day (and let’s be honest, a stressful month), their kindness, patience, and professionalism meant so much.
As two women walking into a car shop after literally breaking our own tire, we could have easily been judged or talked down to. Instead, we were treated with respect, kindness, and honesty. Everything was explained clearly, like someone genuinely wanted us to understand—not feel small.
That kind of experience is rare.
We drove to Ohio the next day feeling safe and confident, and made it back with zero issues.
I can’t recommend this place enough—especially for women who want to feel respected and taken seriously when it comes to car care.
Also… if they ever offer a class on how to change your tires and “how not to destroy your own valve stem,” I will be the first to sign up.

Classic went in for starter, left with scratches.
If you’re planning on bringing anything you care about or with nice paint, I’d avoid it. My classic left with a small but deep scratch under the hood that was not noticed until I popped it for cleaning a week later.
If you’re the type of owner that meticulously cleans their car checking for imperfections, avoid this headache.

TLDR:1-VERY POOR COMMUNICATION-while total price reasonable they totally incorrectly quoted price
2-HAD CAR WAY TOO LONG FOR A 1 HOUR SERVICE
3-DID NOT DO INITIAL SERVICE REQUESTED-did rear instead of front differential
4-Overfilled fluid-required service at other shop
5-Front desk person not helpful, manager condescending even though I have plenty of mechanic experience
Called to have front (and if necessary rear) differential fluid change on kid's AWD car due to front axle binding while making turns. We were quoted $160 for this service by phone and text. LJ at front desk accepted car, we did not hear from them for >24 hours. Daughter received text stating cost would be $250 including a "diagnosis fee", and she declined to sign. On phone they then said they only changed REAR differential fluid (NOT what we asked for or were quoted) and front problem persisted-we were polite during this time. We were then quoted additional $200 for front diff service. We went to store, LJ was at computer and said "It will be a minute" while we waited.... After 2 minutes he finally looked up and engaged with my daughter, then went to get manager. Manager mostly pleasant but only addressed me (owner daughter standing right there) and was condescending when I asked specifics regarding the work to be done stating "you let me handle the mechanics of the car". They finally did the front diff/transmission fluid change at a "discount" of $150 after having car for 3 days! Checked and they overfilled fluid by at least 1 quart. Had front diff serviced again at another shop.
