My experience here hasn't been a pleasing as the others. We purchased a CVT. The product starting causing problems less than 12 months after installing it, and far less than the 18K mileage warranty. I reported it through the distributor we purchased it through. After a couple months of running us through the ringer of trouble shooting numerous phone calls, emails, diagnotics via a local mechanic, the cost of a rental car, not reinmbursed, they finally replaced it. Now on the 2nd tranmission, this has failed in roughly 10-12K mileage and 19 months. I was told by Corey that they rarely have issue's from these rebuilt transmissions, I was told otherwise by the distributor. Needless to say it appears these transmissions are built to last right at the warranty which in my opinion is an inferior product and misleading to the consumer. The original Nissan CVT transmission may start to cause problems around 80K, we got over 135K and the fault was a locked up brake caliper. To rebuild a product such as this I would expect to get at least 50K out of it. Two transmission in 3 years is a sign of poor workmanship and not to stand behind the product knowing this is unethical business practice. I strongly advise to think twice especially if you are purchasing a CVT from this business.
***Updated***It seems I can't respond to the comment here so I am edtiting to update. I purchased the first transmission 7/13-7/16/22 from ebay, direct transmissions88. I received that transmission on 7/27/22. By the time we could schecule a mechanic to install it, it was around the first of August 2022, we did not receive the programming disc as the packing instructions stated would be in the crate. I called Cathy, who said it should be in the crate, it was not. Eventually we got the unit programmed. I reported the issues with the 1st transmission to John and Cathy on 12/4/23, I have a supporting email, well within warranty. The reason it was replaced in 20 months was lack of communication and response from your company. I evenutally spoke with Corey a while after reporting, I have documents on the time frame but it was certainly days after reporting the issue to John and Cathy. Corey said the unit was well within warranty and I had a few months so he wanted me to continue to drive the car and try different troubleshooting methods to see if it was the transmission, one of which was taking it to a mechanic to remove the valve body, and also run diagnostic tests. Corey was supposed to get me a location to take this to, he could not find one. This was in December 2022, he did not respond to my messages until Feb as I have a text stating I had been trying to reach him since December. It was Corey's decesion to wait until March to replace the transmission as I reported it well within warranty. The point I'm making here is that you are the manufacturer of the product, if your product is made to only last just below or beyond the said product warranty that is poor workmanship, parts or manufacturing. I'm guessing the warranty is based on testing of your product in the field. The second transmission has at least 6K miles less than the warranty and 19 months when the issues started again. Again my point is you are manufacturing an inferior product, if that is the life span and yes I would assume since you are the manufacturer that the warrany period would start over on the new replacement. My mattress warranty even does that. I don't expect anything from you as the experience from the first transmission was a problem and cost us a lot of money in rental cars, tow bills etc while doing the extended testing requested by Corey. I don't expect anything as I know I wouldn't get what is right and acceptable, I'm just here to tell anyone else what to expect if they order a CVT transmission from your company. I do have supporting documents on these things I've mentioned but it semms I can't share them here
