  They stand at about 4.5 stars but we can’t give them that rating so I will explain why they aren’t at 5 stars despite producing a superb product. I had a custom mooring cover made by Dockside using Sunbrella. First and most importantly the quality of the cover and the install were perfect. They made exactly what I wanted and did it well. The guys in the shop also went above and beyond for me. When I arrived there with my boat, I discovered that the large bolt holding the trailer rear crossmember to the frame had sheared dropping the crossmember close to the road surface at that side. I told them to go ahead and make the cover and I would make arrangements to have the sheared bolt replaced after I picked the boat up. I was blown away that they just went ahead and purchased a bolt and fixed it for me and didn’t even say anything about doing that. That is phenomenal customer service from the shop! The two areas that would keep me from saying they were perfect are the cost and the lack of friendliness of some of the front office staff. I had gotten quotes for a boat cover from them a couple times in the past and ended up not going with them because they were not only always priced high but the gruffness of the person I was dealing with just rubbed me the wrong way. This mooring cover was way more than I would normally agree to pay but Dockside happened to have the Sunbrella in stock, and it was during COVID and I just didn’t want to shop around so just went with them. Regarding first impressions and customer service, some of the staff come across as being bothered that I am interrupting them. This has held true over the years of my contacting them. I work a job similar to what the gals up front do where we have a-lot to do on top of assisting customers. I found the key is that during all customer interactions, the customers are not an inconvenience but rather the reason for our existence. Being genuinely happy when a customer calls or walks in the door is the best way to make a customer feel good about themself and want to do business with you. They truly are not there to interrupt what you are doing. To summarize, the service and quality of work were superb despite the prices being high and the office staff not being as welcoming and friendly as they could be.

  I had 3 EZ2CY windows shattered in a wind storm and sent the tattered remains to Dockside Canvas. I don’t know how they did it, but Lynn, Eric and the crew perfectly matched the layout and sent me 3 new windows for my 35’ Viking. They look amazing and fit like a puzzle piece. I highly recommend them for any needs similar to mine!!

  As usual another company in the marine industry that lies and never comes thru with what they promise even after having your money. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to use this company from trying to rip you off to lying a out when work will be don’t to take your deposit then saying they never said that. John the owner is never around, always in Florida, and really doesn’t care how his company is ran. Lynn is a rude as they come in providing any information to you and will lie about anything to cover up her crappy work. Eric is maybe decent maybe over worked but in the end still part of an unreliable rude company. Buy elsewhere and with someone that at least will answer emails and return phone calls when they say.
