Wasn’t sure what I want to purchase. I had a 2019 GMA Acadia for trade. A very kind, patient salesperson named Steven Edward greeted me and from beginning to end was honest amazing just a great person. Purchased a beautiful 2023 ford explorer that was a perfect fit. Updated review - I used to lease here regularly 5star. THINGS CHANGED! Several years ago now, they started nitpicking every little thing about each car returned. Perspective - I am a family man with late teen girls at the time. I'm not drag racing or doing anything crazy. I returned a couple of cars over a four years period after our lease was up and things just got worse. They paid a subcontractor to take their leases back. That subcontractor wants to make sure that they are doing their job. They pick apart your vehicle to no end. NEVER AGAIN WILL I LEASE FROM AL SERRA. I called several times and even talked with management to attempt to adjust the wrongs that were done to me. They had no consideration for another opinion. I can't believe that anyone would continue to lease there unless they're the type to have there leased car in the garage the entire lease.

My 2023 Bolt EV had a front bearing noise develop around 15K miles. I made an appt. with Al Serra to have it looked at. The date and time Al Serra gave me was Saturday June 21st at 9 A.M. Saturday at 9 A.M. I pulled into the service bay and was waited on by Jacob Schalau. Jacob informed me that they don't schedule their EV techs on Saturday and I would have to come back Monday. I thought this was weird since they were the ones to set my appt. up. I brought the car back Monday morning June 23rd and got right in. Around 1 P.M. Jacob called me and told me the technician could not find any noise coming from the front end. I was flabbergasted! There was clearly a bad bearing in the front end. It sounded like I was driving with studded snow tires on the front end. Jacob said the tech. said it might be a very light brake noise and I should get the brakes done but it wasn't covered under a new car warranty. I pointed out that the noise didn't change or go away when I applied the brakes and it was clearly a bad bearing. Jacob said there was some rust on the rotors that might be causing the sound. When I arrived to pick up the car I asked him to show me the rust on the rotors since I didn't see any. He said it was only on the backside of the rotors. LOL! I told Jacob I would take my car to a competent dealer and write Al Serra a bad review after they replaced the bad bearing and didn't have to do a brake job.
I had to drive the car with it going waa waa waa waa every day until I had vacation this week. I took it to Hank Graff in Davison and they immediately diagnosed a noisy front end bearing and replaced the right hub assembly. No more noise. The brakes were fine. It only took 3 days of vacation to get this fixed!
This leads me to believe 1 of 3 things must be true about Al Serra's service department.
1)They are lazy and didn't want to change the hub out.
2)They are dishonest by trying to get me to pay for a brake repair that wasn't covered under warranty. By the way the brakes have hardly any wear since EV's barely use the brakes with 1 pedal driving mode.
3) They are so grossly incompetent that they couldn't diagnose a noisy bearing that a 1st year auto shop student would find within 30 seconds of driving the car.
I don't know who the technician was that troubleshot my car but I don't see a bright future for him/her in the automotive repair business. I don't know which of the 3 things Al Serra's service department is but lazy, dishonest, or incompetent is not the service department I am looking for. It's a shame since I live in Grand Blanc and they would be very convenient to do business with but I just don't trust them.
I will say the process of buying my car from Al Serra was a great experience. It's just a shame that they don't want to honor the GM warranty after they sell you a vehicle.
