I never bought a used car before in my life. So if I was going to do that it was going to be a Volvo. Because I also knew that the maintenance record that came along with my 2015 S60 would be complete and in fact filled with inspection that ran the full 185,000 miles. I paid full price. And after running AI against the vehicle history I scheduled one initial inspection after delivery that would give me the information I needed to predict when I would need to move from inspection to repair planning. That time was no less than another 10 years from now (believe it or not)! Volvo for Life!

As one of the few Polestar service points in the U.S., I expected delays, but not this level of disorganization and poor communication.
I dropped off my vehicle on July 24, 2025, after being told repairs would take under a week. I did not get my car back until August 12, 2025—nearly 19 days—with minimal updates and difficulty reaching the dealership throughout.
I was told the dealership partners with Hertz for rentals and was shuttled there. No car was initially available, and the vehicle eventually offered had a cigarette odor, stains, and a flat tire. I had to visit three different Hertz locations, ultimately going to DTW Airport, just to obtain a safe rental—entirely on my own time.
When I returned the rental, the dealership denied having any relationship with Hertz, directly contradicting what I was told at intake.
Although repairs were completed, my warranty claim (offered by Polestar) was denied, and the ongoing rear-view camera issue was downplayed and ultimately unaddressed.
Apologies were offered, but accountability and follow-through were nonexistent. For a certified Polestar service location, this experience fell well below reasonable expectations.
They detailed the front driver seat and cleaned the winter driver mat, which was greatly appreciated. But they turned my car over with only 29% battery, which was the final middle finger from them.

My polestar was in for service for nearly 8 weeks. The level of communication initial was dismal. No responses to calls and texts. I was then called by a new service advisor that informed me that the previous advisor was no longer with the company. I was asked, in a non-direct manner, “why is your car here.” After that conversation, it was ONLY another 3 1/2 weeks until my car was returned. When returned it was filthy. Most dealerships will wash a car before returning it. Not Polestar Detroit. In the future I will use Polestar Chicago or Polestar Columbus.

Had a fantastic experience at LaFontaine Volvo leasing a new Volvo. My prior lease was set to expire in few months and Carlo reached out to let me know Volvo was offering some great incentives. He put together an amazing deal and got me exactly the car I wanted super fast. Chad was incredibly friendly, helpful, and quick getting the financing paperwork done so I could start driving my new Volvo XC60. I'll definitely work with these guys and this dealership again!

I wanted to drop a note for Carlo Lazar and Chad Kyre. You two killed it! Big ups to you both for holding it down. I came in at a moment of crisis. My old vehicle was loaded with my wife, two dogs, luggage, trying to avoid the impending snow storm. Car broke down on the highway. I was in a bad spot. I began the process to have my XC60 repaired by the Service Dept (Brad, I believe (also stellar)). We did the cost-benefit-analysis and determined it was better to trade in and purchase a new vehicle XC90. Salvaged a bad situation and helped us accomplish our goal. I'd definitely recommend LaFontaine, Carlo, Chad, & Brad to anyone. Cheers to you all!
