I came to auto zone to replace my brake light bulb and blinker and Dewayne helped me out. He was a great help and even changed the bulb for me in the rain. He had great customer service and was a huge help! I truly appreciate him.

Came in 40 minutes before closure with a used 12V Battery in an effort to get Core for it. Gentleman ( Employee Dwayne ) never greeted me when I walked through the door ( Nothing, no acknowledgement. Even after I said hello ), just kept staring at me dead in the eye as I walked up to the register, as If I was a huge inconvenience that had just walked through the door. Customer service BASIC: Greet a customer, I don’t ask for much, shows respect. He tells me Core is not possible since it’s past 90 days from purchase, I get it and understood. I then asked if they could discard it or recycle it. Gentleman proceeds to make a face and tells me they usually can but he was in the middle of something and wouldn’t be able to help me for some time ( likely hoping I would give up and leave, I assume ). I asked if another employee could help. He said the lady working there wouldn’t know how to do it. I explained that I had driven far and if he could still help me. Proceeded to make a face as if he was about to make me a gigantic favor and said “ Oh boy “ as he looked to the side. At that point, I just told him to not worry about it and left. Yet another classic Autozone experience. At least I now know where not to shop. I visit Autozones frequently and this one for sure won’t be seeing me again. I get it, you think your job sucks and you want to go home. It’s Sunday, 40 minutes to close. I get it. Fair. But to eye ball roll and give NO EFFORT to be polite and help is despicable. Do better or get a job that doesn’t involve dealing with the public. To the owner or manager: What is your interview process? Because a customer service level THIS shallow tells me you either skipped it altogether or made absolute no effort to check if the employee had basic politeness / interpersonal skills before hire. If he had said a minimal effort “ hello “, it would’ve been a better experience.
