  Car was rented to me in unsafe condition. They were quick to have me drive to a center to switch it out but standard wait times, drive times, etc. all took away from the time I had allocated for other things. Would have appreciated it if they would have brought a different car to me instead of asking me to drive a knowingly unsafe vehicle to them. When I switched out the vehicle it was for an inferior model. I wasn't going to argue about it but it would have been nice if they would have provided something with the same level of tech, or above. When I dropped the car off at the airport there was an awkward moment when they were trying to bribe me to leave a 5 star review. I finally told them I base my reviews off of service not discounts and walked away. Was a poor ending to a mediocre experience and left me thinking that these positive reviews we're probably bought in some fashion.

  The shuttle took a while to turn up at the Airport, but the rest is plain sailing. There were at least 2 counters open and the whole check-in process was swift. I was out of there in no time, as opposed to Avis that took forever & created a long line of anxious & tired renters. The gentleman guiding people to the right bay had a walker. It shows how Alamo cares about equal opportunities. I got to pick any vehicle in the category I chose. The car was quite new, with only 2,850 miles on the odometer. Everything worked as it should. They sent me regular texts to make sure everything is A-OK throughout my trip, offering the option to extend my trip if need be. Returning was also a breeze. Agents were courteous & let me know of the final rental cost. They told me where to go to the catch the shuttle back to the airport & what time it'd turn up. All of this sounds pretty routine, but you'd be surprised how many rental companies couldn't care less about us, the renters, leaving us standing in line for more than 40 mins at times. Oh and, you get a free bottle of water when you check in too. Nice touch!

  Generally one of the better airport rental car experiences that I've had recently. There was a bus waiting to take me to the rental car center when I arrived at DTW. The check-in process was very easy and I was able to get a car quickly. The drop-off process was also very smooth and the bus back to the airport was timely. The only reason I am docking one star is because my car's rear camera did not work and the car was not completely cleaned on the inside when I picked it up, but they were quite busy that day.

  The reservation was originally made by my 21 year old daughter who called Alamo directly to confirm she could rent the car which they confirmed on at least two separate occasions. When we arrived, they refused to rent to her. I then asked them to change the reservation to me. They had to get approval from someone in the back which took at least 10 minutes. After renting the car, we went to get into it, the gear shifter on a BMW X5 they gave us was broken. We had to go back inside and wait until they were able to locate an alternative. When the car arrived it smelled of heavy marijuana smoke. We had to go so we took it and sprayed several cans of air freshener to overcome the smell. Upon returning it, I advised the staff and all he did was notate it and walked away.

  Rented a full size SUV to drive the family to Florida and fly back. Flight was canceled and we had to change our reservation and drive back. Ugh, not fun. The boys at Alamo on Saturday 4/4 at around noon were FANTASTIC. I think there names were Daren and his Manager's name started with an L ...I dont want to guess /screw it up but those guys quickly understood the situation and made sure everything was right with the bill. No arguing, comfortable, smiling, great conversation...those gentlemen need a raise. Straight up. The car (Jeep Wagoneer) was also hassle free, clean, plenty of room, ran and drove great (and I am critical of cars/trucks). Great experience on the rental car front. Made for a nice surprise at the end of a really long 48hrs. Would recommend.
