Moved to cedar springs recently and had multiple bad experiences the few times Ive delt with this location...between being given the wrong parts, online orders not being in stock after paying for them...Having to wait for refunds instead of giving me another part in stock. And the main store manager Brian is rarely around, (pops in randomly according to sales associate) never called me when he was left a note to call me. TO help with a return that ive been trying to have taken care of for over a week (also wrong part that was picked up on willcall from another location).(Cant say which location was at fault for that). But apparently only he can override the return, even though i have the receipt and proof of purchase. Only decent thing about this location is that the staff is friendly. Ill be taking my buisness elsewhere. As a previous mechanic who knows the game of part suppliers.... Lost a bit of busness as I work on a a bit of vehicles in my spare time at my home shop..

I went across the street to O Reilys and they brought up just what i needed and were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
