- RRRick ReynoldsAug 11, 20251.0A completely rude and incompetent operation. No car available for my reservation that was made 9 months earlier. Had to wait 90 minutes for a car. Counter unmanned for the return at 11:00 am on a Friday. I will never rent from Nation again. When the counter worker finally arrived he tried to bribe me with a discounted rate if I would give a good review. You can’t make this stuff up. Unprofessional, unethical and incompetent operation. Could not give a zero star sadly.

I’ve left multiple voicemails but haven’t received a response and I haven’t been able to reach anyone. My reservation is scheduled for Friday and I urgently need to speak with a representative. I’m posting this in hopes that someone from the team will see it and reach out to me as soon as possible. I haven’t been able to find any alternative contact information for this location. Please get in touch at your earliest convenience.
- MMMoJul 10, 20251.0They cancelled my reservation with no explanation. Houghton National Car rental wouldnt pick up the phone! Completely screwed me. I would avoid this specific National even if you're a loyal customer. Be ready to have a back up plan. I landed at the airport, went to the front desk and they said the app shouldn't have let me book a reservation because they were backlogged. This is totally unacceptable. I started looking at another options. I learned that companies like Hertz will match your status at National. I'm keeping this in mind for next time.

We’ve had a scheduled pick-up that there were no employees at the desk to obtain a car, tried to get the car the last 2 days. How this has a high rating as a business is an absolute mystery. Do not schedule a rental from here.
