  I believe the person I worked with in Portland ME Jetport was named John. He was great. We needed to revise our rental and he made it happen and made it seem effortless. He took time to have a real conversation while providing professional and courteous service.

  Portland Maine National Car rental was the longest wait for a car in memory. I waited in line for over an hour. I was just the eighth person in line. Only one staff member was at the counter. She checked folks in and then disappeared for up to ten minutes finally emerging with the next available car. When it was my turn to be waited on, there were thirty people behind me. I told the counter attendant that folks in line heard a rumor there weren’t any more cars. She said she’d have her supervisor go out and tell everyone they had plenty of cars - this never happened. When I asked if they had a full size car she said I’d have to take the small subcompact or wait for the next full size car. Poor organization and staffing shortages were evident at National. Some customers in line went to other car rental counters to get cars. I won’t be renting from National in Portland ever again. Disappointed Business Traveler.
