  I have a 2025 Tacoma, I needed my side steps put on ASAP. Nate got me right in before work and it took under an hour. Definitely going back in the future.

  Today, I called up Gorham Auto Care while I was about to purchase a used car (2015 Ford Fiesta) from a nearby dealer. On short notice, Nate agreed to inspect the car and give me his opinion. He swiftly figured out that the car needed a grand in repairs to be set for a while, something the dealership didn't tell me about. Nate told me about how the vehicle is manufactured cheaply and had the cheapest possible tires, among other very valuable advice. In short, Gorham Auto Care saved me in a pinch from making a bad financial purchase that would have put me in a tough situation for years.

  Disappointed, Disoriented, Devastated I will never go to this garage again. I should have gone to Chet's of which I have had excellent experience in the past with. I don't know what I was thinking. I stopped by the garage sometime in late May and had a diagnostic scanner hooked up to my 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. I was told the wheel bearing likely needed replacing. I mentioned concerns over a parasitic draw on my battery and mentioned how I thought the steering wheel shaking and the whole car vibrating might be related to the wheel bearing issue however I theorized that the parasitic draw may be coming from the stereo not working and the backlighting on the dash display flickering on and off even when the engine and dash lights are off. I told Nate I wanted to know everything that was wrong. On June 2 I dropped off my car as instructed over the phone when I called to make an appointment shortly after the initial scan was done. I waited a week and was not contacted. Finally on Friday I called and was told 'you're all set' by a mechanic I hadn't talked to before. He told me Nate was unavailable but would call me back. Nate then called me back a while later and told me the same thing - 'you're all set.' When I asked why I hadn't been contacted for an entire week Nate told me he JUST finished replacing the wheel bearing before I called. I told him he never provided an estimate which is what I had requested and that I was shocked the work had been done without ANY communication to me. He then told me I owed $450+. In a daze I accepted that the wheel bearing was the extent of the core issues of my vehicle's lack of roadworthiness and I paid. Picking up my car left a bad taste in my mouth already as I told Nate in person during the pick up of how disappointed I was because I never received an estimate. I was advised in my invoice that I am also in need of a tire alignment and that my tires need replacing. I cannot understand why these services were not suggested to me as part of an estimate before the work was done. I cannot understand why I was not provided an estimate. Not only that but my car behaves exactly the same as it did when I had almost $500 more to my name. Nothing was said about the parasitic drain on my battery. My car is now inoperable. It will not turn over. This issue was never addressed however I was provided an estimate by another local and far more consumer-focused mechanic. Now that I know how much it is going to be to fix the extent of issues on my car (including the alignment advised on my invoice but never on an estimate), I am in the market for a new car. My entire course of action rode on whether or not I was going to be provided a comprehensive estimate of all my car's issues. Now I am out $500 AND an operable vehicle. I have been severely emotionally distraught over my maltreatment due to the negligent conduct of Gorham Auto Care. I presented issues that were never addressed and was never given an estimate for the isolated issue that was fixed without my consent. I would never recommend this garage. This whole situation has been very mentally taxing. I have been unable to attend time-sensitive medical appointments nor have I been able to take my dog to the vet which is also pressing as he has a tumor on his ear. I have been taken advantage of and I want things made right. I am heartbroken that a local business whom I thought I could trust would do me so dirty. I would like Gorham Auto Care to fix this for me however if they do not I will continue to escalate this matter. Mistakes happen but not at the cost of screwing over your community.
